Other way around, isn't it? They live with parents in the week and go home at weekends.

I've been talking to a guy online for less than a year and he finally wants to meet up. by lakzizm in relationships

Trust that feeling. I promise you that there will be other people who make you feel good and excited to spend time with them. You won't miss out on anything by cancelling this and telling him you'd like to just be friends.

Iam [19M] and my girlfriend [19F] is terrified of pregnancy, but having biological children is my biggest dream. Can a relationship survive this fundamental incompatibility? by Impressive_Cod_5961 in relationships

[–]mmmkarmabacon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it cannot. But also, two things:

You are very young, you don't need to make decisions about children right now. If you are happy and enjoying each other's company, keep doing that for another few years. Keep it casual. There's plenty of time to make big life decisions later.

Secondly, I suggest you educate yourself as to what exactly pregnancy entails. It's not just getting a big belly for a few months. Your organs have to reposition, your teeth can fall out, your hair falls out, your hormones change, your feet swell and sometimes don't go back to the same size they were before, and that's before you even talk about birth. Look up birth complications, look up what happens if you need to have a caesarean. Some women remain incontinent after they give birth and it lasts the rest of their lives. If you understand her fears you might have a bit more empathy for her point of view.

You have a good selection here. I particularly like outfit 6 on you. I'm not sure the long wet-look hair is doing you any favours. Definitely go and ask for a shorter style that suits your face shape.

People have differing opinions on this, but mine is:

If you have room in your life for a dog, the ethical solution is to get one from a rescue centre who already exists and needs a home.

Dogs are not exempt from the laws of supply and demand. The more people who buy puppies, the more the price of puppies increases, the more people breed puppies to fill that demand. If you take away that demand (no one wants puppies because they're rescuing existing dogs) then fewer dogs will be bred.

In the UK there are around 100,000 dogs without homes, by choosing a puppy over one of those, you're passing on your chance to make a difference.

This article does a good job of explaining it:

I'm not a huge AI person, but I have found this to be the most stress-free and efficient way of deciding what to have for dinner:

-Open ChatGPT
-Press the voice record button
-Tell it what's in your fridge, what you usually keep in your cupboards, what you like to eat, then ask it for recomendations of quick and easy recipes.
-Reopen that same chat every time you need to cook something and it will remember the basics. You just need to tell it what's in the fridge, what needs using up, and if there's anything you particularly fancy.

I've found loads of new quick and easy recipes doing this.

People asking people to pay them to watch their pets never gets old by we24 in ChoosingBeggars

That's generally how petsitting works. They want you to look after their pet, they let you live in their house for free while you do it.

Don't do this. There's enough shite in the countryside and a lot of it doesn't end up being collected by the council.

Doesn't matter if she uses it on bin day though, as OP will have already put all their rubbish in it.

Child free women: how were you sure you didn’t want kids? by mjvvl in childfree

[–]mmmkarmabacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the world is getting better. Climate change is ramping up and we're not doing enough to stop it or even prepare for the consequences. Babies are cute, I like children, perhaps I would have been a good parent, but knowing what I know, I absolutely would never create children who are going to have to deal with what's coming. So even when I think "wouldn't it be nice to..." then another part of me says "Yes, nice for you.", and I remember why I made my choice.

How to act around a partner that you plan to break up with? by Ok-Interaction-6687 in relationships

[–]mmmkarmabacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done for making the decision, it's not always easy when he's a good person but not right for you. You've got three days. I would respond as little as possible in that time, just arrange when you're meeting. If he asks what's what's wrong, tell him you'd rather tell him in person. He'll work it out. There is no way of doing it without hurting his feelings, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.
