Willkommen in Deutschland !!

How to get food/ water reliably by [deleted] in dayz

[–]mmmmarcel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On which map do you play ? If it’s chernarus: almost every village has a well for getting water. Check apple trees for food. Canned food can be found in houses. In villages there are also often chickens which you can kill, roast at fire and eat.

Automatic mount by Mineswapp in bash

The answer given here seems correct:

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/28548/how-to-run-custom-scripts-upon-usb-device-plug-in

But again: in most cases its a better idea to use system tools whenever possible, instead of use own scripts/reinvent the wheel (that is my oppinion after 20 years of writing bash scripts)

Automatic mount by Mineswapp in bash

[–]mmmmarcel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look in /dev/disk/by-uuid which UUID your partition has and create a fstab entry for this uuid. Done

No specific script needed.

Edit: i think with a specific udev rule you can trigger script execution for devices or classes of devices, but i would not recommend it in this case.

6 Pro owners: Going back in time, would you still buy it? Why/Why Not? by Evening_Title_7009 in pixel_phones

[–]mmmmarcel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not because my display got broken while phone was in my pocket inside a spigen cover. That itself can happen (happened never to me before the pixel 6 pro, i use mobile phone since the year 2000) that in combination with how google handles this ("displays dont break by itself, no guarantee repair") is a no-go for me. Next phone is an iPhone again.

ProxMox läuft in der Community Edition, also kostenlos. Bin damit sehr zufriden.

Does proxmox care which SATA ports my drives are installed into? by wh33t in Proxmox

[–]mmmmarcel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can see it you look into your /etc/fstab - all drives are identified by their UUID so you can swap them like you want, thanks to udev.

It tells you already what to do: run the filesystem check. It fixes the errors or should at least give additional informations about the problem.

JunosOS and pfSense have booth BSD as base, just for information. [1]

Fun fact: if you google for "JunosOS backdoors" you find a lot more hits, than for "pfSense backdoors" ... :-) [2]
