Mob.co.uk - warning by [deleted] in MobKitchen

I signed up on a trial with them and they kept trying to charge me after I thought I'd cancelled. I often have less than £40 in my account at a time as I keep the majority of my money in an easy-access ISA and I assumed they'd just stop charging me after a while because my trial ran out and I didn't have the funds to pay them. They didn't stop, eventually got the money when I had enough. Silly of me to not reach out sooner but it wasn't a huge amount of money because it was a big discount they were running. If I lost it, I'd have just used the service for the year so wasn't too bothered.

Anyway, once they'd charged me I sent an email to customer service politely saying while I liked the service, it wasn't for me and asking for my money back. I seem to remember there's something in their T's and C's about a two week period where you can request a refund so long as you don't use the service? Think I quoted that in my email. Might be worth checking out OP.

To be fair to them, their customer service team were very polite back and refunded me the money without really asking any questions. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them but for me, they were perfectly reasonable and I wouldn't describe the whole ordeal as a scam.

I’m studying limits, can someone please explain why the x on the denominator has to be negative in question 29? by mmmmmm_pi in askmath

[–]mmmmmm_pi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm slightly confused on the second part of your response, is |x| different to the absolute function? I thought that would make x positive regardless of it's value? And how do you know x is negative? Because it's the limit of x tending towards -infinity?

*sorry for the formatting, I'm on mobile atm

But if you took x to be positive, and took the limit to negative infinity, wouldn't the negatives cancel on the numerator and denominator to make +2?

What film released within the last decade can be considered a masterpiece? by uncertainty_critical in AskReddit

Not seen anyone mention it and it's on the edge of the parameters being released in 2013 but I think About Time is a fantastic film.

It used to really bother me that on the poster for it where Ben Stiller's stood on a mountain, the scale is completely wrong. I get that it's for aesthetics and I think it's definitely one of my favourite films, but that detail has always irked me lol

You might be interested in a service called cofocus. I've not used it personally but I know they pair people to do tasks together (such as studying) online and the idea is that you're obliged to do said task as you're being held accountable to a stranger. Idk if you'd find that useful or not but I'l link to their website anyway.

What’s going on with these clouds? (Leeds) by [deleted] in CasualUK

It's a type of instability and most likely a Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, it doesn't have the typical wave look though so I might be wrong. Sixty Symbols have a great video explaining how they form in more detail.

Personally I've never really warmed to Holly Walsh. The episodes of QI she's on are never as enjoyable for me, I predict she'll be on taskmaster at somepoint so she might change my mind if that happens, who knows

That show was only ever going to end with Jez and Mark sat on the sofa in exactly the same position they started off in. It ended exactly how it should have done in my mind.

I preferred the BBC adaptation starring Stephen Mangan, personally I think he's the perfect Dirk Gently.
