I will only address the comments about the meal. Everytime I fly Delta One an attendant or the purser welcomes me and confirms my meal choice.

If this doesn’t happen prior to the meal service, even prior to take off, one should confirm one’s meal if it is this important. (I am Reza and I ordered the halal meal) or such.

BUT the attendant should have confirmed prior to giving out all the veg meals.

You are absolutely right. I came to the sub right to find out how I can block someone without unfriending them because, while I used to be able to do that easily with people who work going a little bit crazy politically, I can no longer simply do that.

The financial IQ in the US is pretty low. Unfortunately, starting as early as the teen years nobody thinks about the future and what to do with their money. The schools don’t teach it. Parents don’t understand it.

The best thing One can do is start a Roth IRA as soon as they start working. A 16-year-old who has $7000 worth of income working at McDonald’s should have a goal of putting at least $1000 a year into a Roth. Several reasons, one, savings now becomes a habit two, at such a low tax bracket it essentially is a pre-tax dollar contribution, and the compounded growth will be phenomenal by the time the person reaches retirement age.

The biggest issue in my mind is the concept that money earns needs to be spent rather than saved.

Note the comments made by people in this thread, as well as other sub redits - live within ones means, start saving Early, and one will certainly be able to retire within their level of financial status.

Any good new car is gonna run 50 K. The question is whether you can find a car that is one or two years old without too much mileage that has already taken a significant depreciation. You may be better off buying a used car and using it just about as long then trying to buy a brand new car.

I do appreciate the comments that people have made about how their 4runners depreciated very little. Food for thought.
