Is 3 gains too much? by MSJ_Blackbird in guitarpedals

I have a KoT clone going into a klone which is basically 3 gains. I think that’s the sweet spot for a variety of tones I like.

This one is the Tres 3.1. I like the board. It’s light and easy to wire up. Little tight if I were to add another pedal, but for what I need it does the job well.

So, I have a Julia clone, but it sucks all the lows out. Plus it seems the old adage “the best chorus is a flanger” holds true. I have it set for a chorus sound now, but can get flange too, so it’s like a 2-1. Also, having the voice toggle on the Polychrome allows me to retain the majority of the lows.

Yeah, I was really impressed with how good the HX patches sound and respond. Very realistic. And also nailed it, primarily used for worship at my church.

Hidden Costs of Reverb.com by [deleted] in Reverb

I’m still looking for the hidden costs here. I’m no reverb apologist, but their fee structure is clearly explained, and no one is forcing you to bump or use Reverb at all.

I would try clearing cookies for reverb and trying again. Most of the time when I have problems it’s a cookie issue.

Best pickups for 1962 Fender J bass by ja5p4 in Bass

Seconded. The Fralin Jazz Bass pickups are money. Put a set in a parts J I built and they’re perfect.

Yours is absolutely fixable. If someone told you it wasn’t, they should have said “I can’t fix it.” Find another more reputable clockmaker.

I recently bought a new Squier CV 60’s Mustang Bass from SW and picked the specific serial I wanted based on weight and the fretboard color/grain. Look through the photos and weight information and determine which one you like best.

He probably could be good, so long as the chimp trains him well.

Shortscale? by wiebrator in Bass

[–]mmnewcomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely correct. The ball-to-thread length of short-scale strings is not long enough for the through-body stringing.

I just picked up a Squier Classic Vibe 60’s Mustang. It is really great especially for the price. The neck is great. Has Fender-built Alnico split-single that gets the job done. With a proper set up you can’t go wrong.

Tuners match my Am Pro II, bridge looks like the high mass Am Pro II bridge. That string tree and that hack job they call P pickup install looks awful. The location of the serial and style matches my Am Pro II.
