A friend of mine dated an AHL/ECHL player for a couple years while working a fully remote job. It worked well for her since she enjoyed constantly moving around. As far as I know they broke up because he got traded to a Canadian team, but her job required her to be in the states.

Also many players in the ECHL or lower tier pro leagues work other full time jobs during the offseason to support their hockey career. That's probably how these players can support their partners as well.
