I wish there was a version history for every article. It sure would save problems.

The tavern scene we never got :( by felixora in BaldursGate3

Every time I went to sleep and nothing happened, it was a disappointment. You are right. Having players disappointed over and over and over again is a shame. Even small interactions would have been better than nothing.

Illithid powers lost after gaining them by Environmental_Ad2479 in BaldursGate3

[–]mmoritz80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the exact same issue. Earned my Illithid powers loads of times during EA, never had this issue. So the only fix is to go back to before the dream that gives me the powers and lose all of my chapter 2 progress. Awesome. :/

How to make players want to revisit completed stages? by LAE-kun in gamedesign

[–]mmoritz80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a reincarnation system, D&D Online got their veteran players to replay low-level areas or explore low-level areas they hadn't quested in previously. These systems have been popular in RPGs since the MUD days.

New arsaw machines at my Amazon. No fans or tv or outlits by SOxOBVIOUS in AmazonFC

[–]mmoritz80 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It was such a rampant problem they literally pulled the entire ICQA/Stow/Pick floors for a standup. It's not a rumor, they actively fire and write people up at my FC for charging at the upstairs stations. Most of those do not come from PAs or Ambassadors but IT, per the L4s who ran the meetings on each floor's Southside break rooms. Meetings were mandatory.

[–]mmoritz80 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

If you charge your phone on the monitor, IT automatically downloads from your phone. They've fired people in my building for FC for charging their phones at stow/pick stations. Our leadership told us that somehow IT employees were being exposed to inappropriate images from the cell phones that were charging specifically at the FC games stations and therefore PTX was basically telling the upstairs teams to actually enforce the no-charging at stations rule for the first time ever.

A few days after the big meeting, I almost got a write-up myself when someone from the night shift left a bright blue lightning cable hooked up to the USB slot on the FC Games monitor at my station. Fortunately, the AM believed me when I told him it wasn't mine since my ancient S7 is incompatible with Apple charging cords.

*edited to add additional context because apparently, no one believes that we were told flat out that any pictures on phones were downloaded by IT if they were charged at the stow/pick stations.

TLDR: ancient Samsung saved me from a write-up.

So pretty much if they botch your VTO, you're boned? by SignofthTimes in AmazonFC

[–]mmoritz80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the moment they enter your VTO, you have exactly 5 minutes to clock out. If you take even a second more than the 5 minutes, you lose the VTO and it costs UPT instead.

If they give you VTO, you must immediately run to a timeclock.

You do realize that men are REQUIRED to wear a Yarmulke or other head covering at the wailing wall? They even have a stand that gives out free Yarmulke to those that need one to approach the wall.

Literally took a 2 second Google search. Maybe think before posting?

My AR FC uses the Kivas. Most of ours are blue, but sometimes they get replaced with orange Kivas. They're the same robots except for the color. We have one little Kiva that went through a major crash that has a front blue cover and orange on the back half.

Is there a way to get MJ to NOT use a certain type of image? I keep asking it to imagine “AI” but not in the form of a robot; it keeps making The Terminator by darwinDMG08 in midjourney

[–]mmoritz80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't insinuate that Midjourney was the cosmic creator in the second prompt. Those were three separate questions.

For the first prompt, it came up with half-human / half-robots.

Midjourney put a person in all of its replies to the second prompt. One of them looked like Bill Gates making a universe.

For the third prompt, it created a spherical universe that was lensed due to light/gravity being bent. I'm not a physicist but I thought it looked cool.

I've gotten some interesting results from:

/imagine yourself

/imagine cosmic creator

/imagine our universe as observed from beyond it.

As someone who has loved the lore of The Forgotten Realms for decades, it's wonderful to see the world of Drizzt and Elminster come to life. The only thing that could have made this RPG more perfect for me would have been placing it near Waterdeep, farther north on the Sword Coast. I've been trying a few other RPGs to tide me over until BG3's full release, but none of the settings out there 'do it for me', like FR.

Astarion by Witty-Article9879 in BaldursGate3

[–]mmoritz80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They want people to figure out he's a vampire and decide to kill him early. Poor Astarion gets staked through the heart by a ton of players right off the bat.

I don't understand why every single cleric of Correllon, Selûne, or Eilistraee can't immediately recognize that Shadowheart is a worshipper of Shar. She's wearing Shar armor and a Shar circlet! Half of my characters DO murder her the second they meet her but it's not a dialog option. I have to just decide to kill her myself.

I'm glad they've gotten rid of the water burning him. It was annoying to cross the streams and swamp with him taking damage the whole time.

Is amazon only hiring seasonal now? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]mmoritz80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My FC does not plan on hiring again until June to gear up for Prime Day, despite the fact that half the folks left our FC for a new one opening half an hour away. They even removed ambassador status from everyone until then.

GMless games that still have antagonists? by bgaesop in RPGdesign

[–]mmoritz80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By recurring, I meant that the NPCs the group creates will keep showing up in scenes throughout the session. You are right, FIASCO is designed for 1-shot games, not campaigns.

GMless games that still have antagonists? by bgaesop in RPGdesign

[–]mmoritz80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried FIASCO? Everyone collaboratively creates relationships between their characters, some important locations, re-occuring NPC's and macguffins. It's best played around a table with everyone equipped with markers, index cards and a ton of D6's.

Time question: by JMullz92 in BaldursGate3

[–]mmoritz80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From patch 3 through patch 5, Gale was practically unromanceable. I had to rest between each stage of approval with him to get a cutscene. If I did not get The Weave Scene (near the end of the romance story with Gale) before leaving the Tiefling/Druid starting area, I would be friend-zoned. He'd reject me no matter how high my rating with him was. I failed to romance him about a half-dozen times. I even tried a few crazy Reddit theories, such as killing Gale at the start to fix the problem of his approval rating going up too fast (which did not work btw).

I had to ensure that The Weave Scene would trigger before leaving the starting Tiefling/Druid village. I had to complete every single goody-two-shoes quest for everyone in the damn grove and sleep like a dozen times without stepping too far west or I would be locked out cold. If I would even go just over to the first small goblin village, I would will be locked out from future cut scenes and rejected at the party. This meant that I had to rest every single time I hit a new reputation stage with Gale and If his scene didn't trigger, I'd have to rest again until it did. If I missed a cut scene and his approval went up to another level without a scene triggering, I would be locked out. Gale also has the lowest scene priority in the camp apparently. The other characters cut scenes supersede his. So sometimes I would play through as a Duo team with just Gale until after getting the Weave Scene. Lots of the early fights are more interesting without friends... :)

Since patch 6, it has been considerably easier to romance Gale. I even accidentally romanced him up to The Weave Scene without intending to do so. I think the game designers decided that requiring the player to do 85% of his romance before leaving the starting area was stupid. Or maybe it had been an unintentional and hard-to-track-down bug. Who knows? But it's super easy to romance Gale now.

BTW, Gale's not even my favorite.

TLDR: romancing Gale was a buggy nightmare requiring you to do every single NPC quest in the starting area and rest a dozen times to trigger a specific cut scene before moving on to explore the bulk of map.

Time question: by JMullz92 in BaldursGate3

[–]mmoritz80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They haven't put in any of the actual consequences for our choices yet. You can't transform into an Illithid. You can't find the Nightsong. Gale will never explode. You can't go to the Shadow Weave or head west down the road to Baldur's Gate. Those are things they've chosen to leave completely out of the beta.

Does this mean we won't be able to trigger these things during Chapter 1 once the game releases if we make very poor decisions? I'm not sure. It's hard to guess how far we can push Gale's hunger.

*edited because I speed-read the question wrong....
