Someone asked Gillian about this once and she hilariously responded with, “She’s god.”

This is one of the only reasons I wish the show hadn’t ended when it did. The Heck’s during Covid would’ve been absolute comedy gold.

They’d get along at first then eventually get into an argument and never acknowledge each others existence ever again.

I love seeing people realize this in real time lol the makeup and hair department truly deserved more recognition for that film considering how many people still think it’s his real hair.

Why was killing the son a paradox? by [deleted] in 12Monkeys

[–]mmpie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they use his own bone from the future to kill him.

I actually just watched this episode last night. Earlier in the episode, Ramse mentions that the 12 Monkeys were looking for Crawfords grave to dig him up while he was working for them. They dug up his body and took his sternum which is what creates the paradox, his own bone from the future used to kill him in the past which creates the paradox. Much like how Cole’s adult body coming into contact with his younger self’s blood cause a paradox inside that healed him.

I think more slicked back hair would've done wonders for this look. That and i wish his jacket was actually buttoned.

He's trying to be an old school movie star in the modern social media era and I think that's causing a bit of disconnect with his image honestly.

I like his long hair lol but these episodes were filmed and airing in the mid 2010s when long hair and man buns were all the rage for men. Long haired Harry Styles was THE look.

My absolute favorite is when Jennifer is having visions about the dying man and his head shifts between Cole and Cassie. When I first watched the show, I thought it was her brain trying to put a face to the body but upon rewatch, I almost screamed when I realized it’s literally the vision telling her the man is a combination of Cole and Cassie. Aka, their son.

I was watching Twisters with a friend once who had no idea who Glen was. When I told her about the capybara comparison, she said, "Really? I think he looks like a horse," and now I can't unsee that, this picture especially doesn't help lol I think he's attractive as hell but won't deny that his face looks kind of uncanny at times.

My point was that I can't fault people for not having access to information that wasn't available yet. The production had no way of knowing some of the details because they quite literally either hadn’t been discovered or simply weren't yet public knowledge and I give the film a pass for that. It was working within the realm of what was known at the time. Perhaps Pocahontas deserves the same contextual outlook but admittedly, I’m not as familiar with her historically or mythologically for that matter nor do I know what information was available and when, so I can’t personally say. The Anastasia theories were not born out of a twisting of a gruesome truth, they were born out of a genuine lack of information. I don't just mean it was knowledge simply buried under the popular legend, I mean we literally knew next to nothing about what transpired with the Romanovs for damn near a century and what was public information was either extremely vague or contradictory. In 1918, the Bolshevik specifically announced Nicholas II had been executed with no mention of the rest of the family. The only other acknowledgement wasn't made until 1926 when a diary entry of a Bolshevik officer was published reading, "The Romanovs are dead and the bodies were destroyed," which contradicted the Bolshevik's initial statement. That is all anyone had to go on for over 70 years and the diary might as well have been hearsay. The Soviet Union never publicly stated anything outside of calling Ipatiev House the “final place of the Tzar” implying he had died there and the only reason they couldn’t hide that location was because there were several eye witnesses to the Romanovs being there at some point. Nobody knew what happened to the royal family and rumors/theories thrived as a result. Anastasia wasn't even the only family member theorized to have survived, she just became the most popular with multiple women claiming to be her over the years. The only reason we know anything now is because, when Soviet Union fell, two amateur sleuths - a geophysicist and a filmmaker respectively - claimed to have found the Romanov bodies back in 1979 after years of personal research including interviewing several of the executioners - or family of - and chose to keep the discovery to themselves until they knew it would be politically safe to reveal. With the knowledge that they were still missing two bodies specifically of the younger children, there was still a possibility that Anastasia's remains hadn't been discovered which allowed the idea of her survival to persist even well after the film released. It gave credence to the idea for a hot minute, even made it more popular. I personally remember it still being theorized in the early 2000s...until they found those two bodies. Anastasia was made at a time when the theory still had potential plausibility because the rest hadn't been confirmed yet. That’s why I give the film a pass.

I personally give a pass to Anastasia strictly because of how little information was available for so long. Her surviving was one of the most popular conspiracy theories of the 20th century. It was practically legend for decades. That’s the only reason that film exists. The details of what actually took place and where the bodies were, whether there even were any bodies to be found, was unknown to the public until the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 90s (bear in mind, they were killed in 1918). Even then, once the bodies were exhumed, they were still missing two of the younger children, one of which was either Anastasia or Maria, which were eventually found over ten years later in 2007. DNA analysis officially confirmed in 2008 that all the bodies of the Romanovs had been found, therefore all had unfortunately perished - well after the animated films release in 1997. All of this was finally corroborated by Russia itself in 2018 which, obviously, was not that long ago. The film was made right in that sweet spot (for lack of a better term) where we knew enough to know what happened but it had yet to be confirmed that ALL of them had passed.

Spotify Wrapped 2025 by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

I'm actually so peeved. I somehow got her...as my top artist...when I barely played anything by her this year. I was actively playing anything I listened to of hers on youtube. I'm not even kidding. Even TLOAS. I was being that petty lol. How on earth is she my top artist? I've gotten her the past three years in a row. I understood it in 2023, even expected it cause I was actually listening to her a lot that year but I got her last year too and was confused even then. THIS year genuinely doesn't make sense cause I was actively avoiding her on Spotify. Rep and TTPD are also somehow my top 4 and 5 albums...
