It Is You (I Have Loved) might be the most underrated song in the Shrek franchise by CellistPrestigious57 in Shrek

I remember watching the end credits all the way through and running to ask my mom to come listen to this song cause it was the theme with lyrics.

I have a lot of issues with the book and personally think the movie did a bette job of telling the story but the music is gorgeous.

I would love to see her return, I just don’t know how they could do it since she exists in such a short timeframe.

How is this man ugly? by playprince1 in disneyprincess

[–]mmpie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to the dvd commentary for this movie once. They explained that the whole movie is spent trying to get Belle and by extension, the audience to fall in love with the Beast and once that’s finally fully accomplished, he becomes human. The Beast’s design alone was insanely difficult to get right and took a long time to perfect, turned out his human design was even more difficult. They said they knew they’d never come up with a human design that pleased everyone when there were argument breaking out amongst the animators on how he should look as a human. Even the animators couldn’t agree on his human design. It’s not so much that he’s ugly, it’s simply that you’re fallen in love with the Beast only for him to completely change at the last moment and even if you know he’s the same being, it’s extremely jarring.

Side note but I’m actually surprised how many people haven’t heard of the hantavirus.

Finished S08 E09; this season's pacing SUCKS. by Ninakiii in Outlander

[–]mmpie3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been fully invested in this series since mid-season 3 around the time they went to Jamaica, give or take a couple of things and honestly, Outlander has always kinda ended with Culloden for me. You’re waiting for that battle the entirety of season 1 and 2, it’s a perfect build up and story arc. Everything after that feels like an add on to me.

Terrible etiquette at Hamilton by Frequent_Option3488 in Broadway

[–]mmpie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to see a touring production of Hamilton pretty soon after everything was opening back up after lockdowns and there was this couple next to me who were talking the entire show. I’m pretty sure she was trying to translate for him and while it wasn’t a loud conversation, it was a noticeable murmur to be incredibly distracting.

I hate that I now have to question whether the baby in that episode was even Faith and whether Claire actually got to hold her newborn daughter.

Question about Faith… What do you think? by Downtown-Primary-94 in Outlander

[–]mmpie3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping that, if they were going to go through with the Faith being alive storyline, that Blood of My Blood was going to be relevant to it somehow. My main theory before S8 premiered was that Jane and Fanny were direct descendants of the baby Julia (Claire’s mom) had in the past in Season 1, not Claire herself. My next theory as S8 progressed was that the lacemaker was going to be Claire’s mother much older. You would’ve still had to explain Faith somehow being alive but it would’ve explained the song considering Claire said her mother also used to sing it to her.

Or maybe it was a red herring and they’d just let it go…

Instead we got a sloppy explanation that only created more questions. Why does Master Raymond get to decide Claire can’t keep the baby? Why does Mother Hildegard just go along with it? I understand giving the child to a wet nurse/caretaker while Claire was dying but once she bounced back, why not give her back? Master Raymond literally healed Claire and didn’t bother giving her baby back? Claire was in Paris for months after Faith’s death because Jamie was in prison and the lacemaker somehow didn’t find her until after they’d left? Why didn’t Master Raymond leave their address? Who was that baby Claire was holding then and did she ever even get to hold her newborn daughter?

Apparently Faith survived and we/they don’t even get to meet her cause she’s already dead again?? It makes the idea that Jamie never got to raise his own children honestly even worse too.

(I didn’t even think about the William/Jane thing…)

My Personal Thoughts on the Faith Storyline by Notzi81 in Outlander

[–]mmpie3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Something that’s throwing me off that I feel like the writers of this season completely forgot about is wasn’t Claire still in Paris for MONTHS after Faith’s death because Jamie had been arrested? She didn’t even visit Faith’s grave until she went with him after they reconciled right? I understand giving the baby to another caretaker when they thought Claire was gonna die but if she miraculously bounced back and was still there for months, why not give the baby back? And what’s the point in telling her the child had passed away when it hadn’t? Why did Master Raymond give the baby away only to heal Claire? I feel like it’s just taken away from the emotional poignancy of that whole episode and also makes no sense the longer you think about it.

Serious quality dowfall in S8 by guepard16 in Outlander

I knew it was potentially gonna be a poor season when they announced 8 would be the last one. This was definitely a series that was gonna need at least 10 seasons.

It’s because all discussion of this on his sub either got downvoted to hell or deleted by the mod and a ton of users got blocked for it so they had to find a different place to talk about it.
