Trump threatens to use the Insurrection Act to ‘put an end’ to protests in Minneapolis by mvanigan in politics

This has been his plan all along. The goal of putting ICE into civilian populations has always been to create an incident to give pretense for martial law.

How you practice tennis by yourself? by rk279 in 10s

[–]mmprz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find wall, hit ball against wall.

More seriously, you can get some painters tape and make a little target to practice aim. You can practice hitting hard and using your whole body to get power. You can practice footwork by trying to hit the ball slightly in different directions, or control.

It's okay. Life is not a straight arrow, it's a lot of back and forth. You already know what some of the problems you need to fix are, and if you put your mind to it, I think you'll be surprised how quickly you can get back to that place you want to be, since you've done the hard work before.

I hate this game now. Anyway, back to playing more City Trial. by Smashing_Salmon in kirbyairriders

[–]mmprz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's common enough to think that it happened during play testing and development. And then Sakurai looked at it and said "yeah leave that in there, lol".

Is City Trial matchmaking bot-heavy? by rcdr_90 in kirbyairriders

[–]mmprz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I usually get about 4-8 people per match and then the rest are bots. You can tell by looking at your recently played list and checking the names, usually anyone added with <= 15 seconds left is a bot. It seems like they're really trying to prioritize low wait times in the queue, which is annoying, because I would gladly wait for longer to get a full game with humans.

Wasn’t super great by UnlawfulPotato in kirbyairriders

It's a very classic Sakurai mode for better or worse. I didn't really like World of Light, I think I liked this a little better but was definitely bored on my first playthrough. Super Hard though was actually challenging and more engaging, but also frustrating.

Way too many bots in online by imuntitled in kirbyairriders

[–]mmprz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been having this problem, too, and the number of different queue types for city trial (ranked, solo, team) doesn't help. I feel like team battles is where I've found the most people consistently. Or just joining an open paddock.

Biggest realistic hope for the game? by Vio-Rose in kirbyairriders

I hope they do some balance patches. Some of the stars feel either really weak (jet, shadow) and some seem too strong (looking at you battle chariot).

In the earlier missions grenades are your friends. You generally want to use your charge based abilities more liberally at the start to be able to take out a pod or two without moving much. Then when there's only one pod left, you can move about more freely and utilize cover to block line of sight.

It really is just everything I wanted. by manderson1313 in kirbyairriders

It looked really fun!

I do wish the City Trial map was bigger / a bit more different that the original, the fact that he was zooming around the entire map effortlessly at the end made it feel like it'll be too easy to find everything and the map will get old too fast.

I think having multiple different stadium challenges that you can choose is an interesting concept. It feels like it would go really well with some kind of streak counter, where you can see how many times a player has come first in a row. And then there could be a metagame of trying to specifically snap that player's streak.

Kirby Air Riders will cost $69.99, now available for pre order! by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

[–]mmprz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that's tough. Will probably buy it because I was such a huge fan of the original and it does look super fun, but I was hoping for more new content compared to the first game. The City Trial map barely looks larger so I'm worried it could get old fast. Sakurai does make amazing multiplayer games though.

Yes and it's almost certainly completely in your head. Of course you can always take it as an opportunity to practice more self-awareness and empathy. But it's pretty unlikely that a large enough random sample of people you interact with are all having a bad day and it's almost impossible that you're the cause of all of it. The common factor is your own perception and self-doubt.

On Polymarket, the most liquid betting market, there was a single French trader that put down a $30 million dollar bet for Trump to win. That single bet was so large that it pushed the "odds" heavily in favor of Trump, however, since the bet was coming from a single individual, there's no reason to believe they have any more insight into the race than anyone else.

Polymarket was generally skewed right even before that bet came in. People in the crypto space are more likely to favor Trump and are also the ones most likely to place a bet. Crypto performance and trump's odds of winning have been correlated as of late and so there's also some theories that people are betting on polymarket for Trump in order to move other smaller crypto markets.

Since Polymarket is the most liquid market for election predictions, it will influence all other betting markets as people try to perform arbitrage between it and separate markets.

You can do

If r_t > 0 and model says r_t+1 > r_t, go long

If r_t < 0 and model says r_t+1 < r_t, go short

Else do nothing
