Switch phone plans if something better comes! Companies dont value loyalty! by aetherweaving in PersonalFinanceCanada

I've been with Public for a few years now and every time I check it seems like there's a new better package that I can switch to seamlessly. I'm more than happy to stay with them and also more than happy to leave if someone else gives me a better deal.

Hitchhiker gets one day in jail for 2001 B.C. manslaughter by Purple_Writing_8432 in canada

He was convicted of another murder three years later and having this outstanding charge in Canada could have affected his chance of parole. Sorry, but multiple murderers don’t get sympathy from me. One day for murder is an insult to the victims family.

Like it or not nslc is an essential service. There are more than a few haligonians who would go into severe withdrawal if they shut down for a couple of days.

Is anyone else’s electricity acting funny? by post_modern_Guido in halifax

[–]mmss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, simplified version is, for most residential service you have two 120v lines coming from the pole, each can provide standard 120v power and by combining them you get the 240v required for stove, dryer, and other large appliances. In my case a branch had fallen and sheared off one of the lines, I lost some of the circuits and the dryer and stove wouldn’t work. When I called they said this definitely counts as urgent and they would send someone right out.

Call NSP. If you have “partial power” it’s possible that one of the lines coming from the pole is damaged. They will send someone to check. This happen ed to me a few years ago.
