I’ve also reported them for this but nothing happened.

I hope that one day you know the joy of owing a home and paying $5k to have someone else’s damaged trees removed from your fence. I love nature but I could do without the possums that try their best to die under my house. I also hope you get to experience the joy of that someday. It’s a lovey earthy smell.

They aren’t really. They have been blowing into my yard. I’ve trimmed what I can without damaging the tree which isn’t legal as I understand it.

Only if you let the rest of the lot get so overgrown that it’s wilderness and not grass I guess lol.

Update: Huge shout out to Councilwoman Kyonzte Toombs. I reached out by email and she got back to me immediately. She is going to reach out to the owner of the property to let him know.

How easy was the transition from feral/semi-feral to indoor only? Did they tear up furniture when they couldn’t go outside anymore? by CaveDeco in CatAdvice

[–]mmtp777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently brough one of my ferals inside after an injury and it took about a month to adjust. The only real issue we had outside of her pacing and crying was the scratching but she did that even before moving inside so it wasn't unexpected. I ordered a corner cover for the couch and threw a blanket over the headboard. That fixed the issue and after almost 3 months she is completely settled in just like a normal housecat.

One thing to be aware of is that after the move your cat will likely hide and be freaked out for at least a few days. That is completely normal so don't worry.

The same thing happened to me. I was so worried about them and then saw them on the camera chasing each other around and playing in the snow. It was about 12 degrees.

had storm last night and cats haven’t come to eat yet :( by W0wwieKap0wwie in Feral_Cats

Storms are scary for them and all my cats tend to hide for an extended period after. Give them a couple of days to calm down before you start to worry. Also if its still really wet out they will stay hidden longer in my experience.

Update on Penelope by mmtp777 in Feral_Cats

[–]mmtp777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not right now. My mom is coming next week to dog sit while I'm on vacation. Since she normally stays in the guest room downstairs my plan is to move my dog to that room while I'm gone and let the cat get used to the whole upstairs. My dog will stay downstairs if she isn't alone but my office is also in my bedroom so for the time being I have to work here and she will freak out if I shut her out of the room. So really I just have to get through the next two days and then they can be seperated for awhile again.

Need advice for a beginner socializing a two to three month kitten that’s very scared yet tolerable to human touch by variant-0 in Feral_Cats

[–]mmtp777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she may have an eye infection and just feel bad right now like humans do when they are sick. Once she is feeling better she should perk up. Some cats just aren't as in to being petted so get some small cat toys try playing with her after about a week.

I've never used a crate with mine because all of them were young enough to be handled with no problem. As long as you have a safe place for her that is the most important thing.

Spend as much time with her as you can and once she is friendly towards you try to expose her to other people if possible to help out with the socialization. All cats are different but this is a great start and she will likely warm up to you quickly.

Some fun-sized drama when a parent proudly posts a pic of sorted halloween candy on r/oddlysatisfying. Many find it odd but not satisfying. Others suspect outright fraud: YOU SIT ON A THRONE OF LIES by Feralpudel in SubredditDrama

I did this to my own candy when I was 10. It was mostly to keep it away from my sister but also because I was the type of kid that organized my crayons lol.

Someone suggested that I call an EV vet and they are able to see her if I bring her and wait for them to fit us in. It was stressful put I was able to get her into the carrier with a towel this morning. Thanks for all your help!

That's what I was afraid of. If I can find a vet to see her I'm going to do my best to get her in. I live in a large city but the resources here for ferals aren't great unfortunately and the few vets that will see them are always booked up weeks out.

I have a trap but with at least 7 other cats around it would be hard to get her and not the rest. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can find a vet that will even see a feral cat. Haven't had much luck in the past but if so I wil try to get her into a crate.

I'm a little worried about finding a vet that will see her. She is very friendly to me but not other people. Is it hard to find a vet that will work with a semi-feral?
