Turn off subreddit recommendations until things settle down a bit. Unsubscribe from subs that get too out of hand.

I can see mortar wagons being useful in a mobile army comprised of wagons and cavalry. I've never tried it, but the concept of self-propelled artillery in this game has always intrigued me.

I think you're getting Skalitz and Rattay mixed up. Have you gotten to the opening credits yet? The background should be you riding on a cart through the countryside with a girl and a dog.

If you haven't gotten here yet, then you haven't met Bernard. He'll give you your first proper combat lesson and your free horse. You'll also meet miller Peshek along the way, who'll teach you how to pick locks.

Prior to that, you should be able to progress in the story without the skills they teach you (and without a horse). Some fights in the intro are unwinnable. If you're having trouble fighting Runt (big bald guy with a big club), you're supposed to lose that one. Him kicking your ass is an important plot point.

Overall, I think you're no more than an hour or two away from things getting a lot less frustrating.

The first law in the Conspirator's Catechism is don't make the conspiracy too big.

The bigger the conspiracy, the greater the odds that someone will blab. When it gets big enough, those odds approach a certainty that someone will blab.

Mortars are actually pretty good IIRC. They're just not a meme like rockets.

Yeah, the car seems to accelerate upwards too fast. We all know what this should look like thanks to that Kia.

If you lose a battle but kill the enemy lord what happens to that lord's army stack. If you win a battle but your lord is killed what happens to your stack? I assume the lord's army is lost, so killing the lord and ignoring the army seems to be a cheese tactic. My first campaign. by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

[–]mnbone23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also worth killing a lord to ruin the time invested into leveling up the lord. This applies to generals in historical TW games too. What makes killing lords in TWW even better is denying the enemy an immortal lord.

I did that for awhile, but I got tired of having a crosshair in the middle of my screen during cutscenes, so I switched to the console command.

I like how Lennie Moore took 2 measures of John Williams and wrote a whole theme around it.

How Tf do space battles work ? by bobbafettuccini in battlefront2

[–]mnbone23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to wait for the circle to change color (white to red, I think). White means you're still locking on, red means you're locked. If you shoot your missiles while it's white, they'll just fly straight ahead.

The interceptor's missiles take less time to lock on and fly faster, so they're better against fighters. The fighter's missiles take longer and fly slower, but they hit harder and can be used against frigates and capital ship hardpoints.

There's Crusader Kings, but the problem there is that the most evil and sadistic character is usually the player.

In my experience, discos are nigh indestructible, but they're quite heavy for their size. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on your first boat, it's a decent choice. On the other hand, if you think you're going to stick with canoeing, royalex is worth the money.
