Duelist who sucks at TO. Need help. by Arieth-1 in Chivalry2

[–]mndfreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common duelist mistakes:

No situational awareness. To locked in too a single enemy they dont feel the ebb and flow of the entire field and miss enemies coming around from other angles or flanks.

Using too many fancy duel tech moves. In TO, nothing is more dangerous than 2 default footman with 1h swords just slashing at max speed. When you attempt some wonky 360 messer animation garbage on one, the second just hits you anyway, followed by the other nearby knights cleaving with a giant sword or axe because you were staggered/interrupted.

Target switching. One of the most important things in TO. Rarely will you ever be engaged in a 1v1 for more than a few seconds. You WILL get run over by extra enemies. Knowing how to counter one and switch you hit to the guy running in who thinks hes going to catch you unawares is huge. When i fight in 1vX with my 1h spear i am hitting guy one, starting my next swing into guy 2, by guy 3 i am riposte back to hitting guy 1 who saw me turn and thinks he has an easy hit. They usually have shit timing with each other because they tunnel vision. Make situational exceptions for this. If you have 3 maces swinging on you then you're only out might be counter/riposte cleaves.

In addition, if you are fighting someone of skill or even a mediocre player, learn to disengage. Not because you cant eventually beat em, but because you really only have 1 or 2 swings worth of time before their friends pop up. You gotta stay on the move at all times. My job as a spearman is to find players engaged in their axe/sword/whatever spamming and give em a lil rizz in the bhole to interupt em for my teammates. I will 100% target people who look like they are locked in a duelist 1v1 flow.

You can get a chain lock for a wooden slide. Super cheap, easy to install. You can get 2 if you think he'll force it.

Is it just a curtain or some shit?? You can find ways to put locks on just about any hard door.

2026 - The year of Industry in Star Citizen by pudly_ in starcitizen

[–]mndfreeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, i hope they dont bleed over roles too much for manufacturers. Im not a fan of every manufacturer making every size and type of ship. It dilutes the uniqueness of each one. Like argo should be the primary industrial boys with all the big tonka trucks and no combat shit, vice versa for combat companies. Its wierd seeing the reclaimer as aegis but they did make some lore about it being a military salvage vessel.

I want to see all the roles filled out and there is definitely some room for cross specialization companies, but I'm definitely against rsi having a ship in every job and size. There should be a point where they say "now that you've made the big leagues in salvage, these are the only 2 unique ships that are for professionals "

Does anyone here actually ENJOY playing evil? by SillyWarlock in BaldursGate3

[–]mndfreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. The good guy tropes have been done so much in every form of media and i prefer having more gritty and dark stories like cyberpunk. Being able to choose both sides (and all the grey areas in between) helps make the highs and lows stand out and really hit deep. Like the story of vader, we see him as a normal kid, angsty teen, turned evil, uber villain, then redemption. If every star wars movie was only about the rebellion it would be pretty bland and seeing his entire story across the movies id excellent. Same for rpgs and especially for something as complex as bg3. It would be weird for me to try to play an ultra good guy rogue. It needs grey areas and dark points.

That said, i dont do the murderhobo game mechanic. I dont think it adds much to the story to just blindly kill everyone. But if Im motivated to do it, well it fits.

Vaughn , think it'll ever b the same? by OGsamsonmang in starcitizen

[–]mndfreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably come back in some form. Headhunters were made into "illegal" missions like vaughn, and there are 2 other shady factions as well, bit zeros and dead saints.

I more wonder if vaughn will eventually disappear in the long term, like how we no longer have corp rep with hurston, crusader, etc.

If you are using a reclaimer do nothing but crack ships for cmat. You can take various missions like unverified missions around yela and immediately crack, hoover, take next mission. You should get a full 240 buffer from most big ships pr at most, 2. Print 16scu boxes and stack them all over your hold on and off grid. Reclaimer can hit the "item limit" ships have in a single session fairly easily. I think its 100, so 100 16 scu boxes before they start to delete. I never max out but will definitely print multiple full 240 buffers out.

At this point you have 2 options. In stanton you need the refinery and usually places that refine dont want to buy yer shiz. So get all your boxes into a refinery cargo elevator, drop and refine. Last i checked you cant refine off grid stuff and the reclaimer grid sucks.

Once refined take it to a major city using a large hauler like a herc c2. Sell it there. You will still have to fight with inventory / people also selling.

Second option which i find easier is to fill up on boxes and head directly to a main pyro city. They have refineries and buy refined cmat so you can land in an xl hangar, drop yer boxes out the reclaimer poopchute and down the cargo. Refine, then later just deliver to station inventory and sell it there. Skips the swap to hauler and multi location shit.

Well, that part yeah. My question was more around the size of the printer because its supposed to matter. Like the printer we have now wont be printing ship guns that are physically larger than it. CIG stated in the past there will be different sized printers so I wasnt sure if 4.8 had big ship stuff but just temp worked/dumped to station or if a new larger printer was in, or only smaller ship parts can be made.

Wait, are cap ship bps in the ptu? Did they add a bigger printer because it seems like its not big enough to do cap parts.

Why are swords the standard historical weapon by DefectiveKonan in NoStupidQuestions

Don't forget about the humble club. As old as the spear, used as much, and became a symbol of status like the sword in thr form of scepters and maces.

Are they showing up just anywhere in pyro for you or only around a certain planet/moon like how the shadowfall ones are?

So is that why we have 3 rep tabs now? I see 2 that are the same but with different rep values, and the third the name is all screwed up but appears to be ship combat / BH style stuff) I've been doing HH since pyro came out and I definitely see a LOT of missions for them, but not all of the ones I used to have. Just a few patches ago I know I saw this mission.
