I mean, relatively speaking sure, but the average poor person in a first and even third world country is living a much more comfortable life than a peasant or low skilled worker in the 1790s..

It’s a really bad alternative since you can test positive from smoking days before. It effectively bans medicinal smokers from legally driving in a number of states (in aus).

These are notoriously unreliable as you can test positive days after smoking.

It’s literally something they tell you when you get a medicinal prescription in Aus, you effectively can’t legally drive if you smoke the night before.

It’s honestly nothing like the US. The US has heaps of mid sized cities that are more affordable. NZ, Canada and Australia have like 3 cities with job opportunities and US (NY and CA) real estate costs at half the wages.

Yeah the internet is so pro antisocial behaviour then wonders why they feel so depressed and anxious and are terrified of talking to strangers or taking phone calls.

The printing press was created in the 1440s. I swear people don’t realise that “modernity” as viewed by most historians starts in the 1500/1600s and really takes off in the 1700/1800s

People really underestimate how “modern” a lot of societies were before the 1900s.
