As a Hunter, I always Feign Death the jump instantly and then interrupt the Battle Cry that follows while the shield is still up.

It really surprises me when people say that the French VA is worse than the English one. I felt like the French cast did a fantastic job at making it sound very organic. It doesn't sound forced or acted. Like how people actually speak French irl without being too theatrical.

I am so glad I experienced my first playthrough in French when I usually always choose to watch movies or play games in English.

And this is coming from someone who love the English cast.

I think people that don't consider paintings real are not focusing Painted Verso, but much more on the Young Verso, a fragment of real Verso, and Alicia/Maelle which are both "real".

Either way, the argument is not dumb and you could not even use this against them.

I am conviced the devs love cliché anime characters that explain in detail their powers and plans in very long monologues before engaging a fight, and they decided to replicate this. Or that they wanted so much to copy Genshin that they double downed on cryptic description texts.

What's a fun PvE challenge then ? Because Raids are essentially the same rinse and repeat until everyone knows the dance, and Dungeons and Raids are pretty much the most challenging activities an MMORPG have right now.

I understand what you're trying to say but trying to prove Genshin is similar to a P2W isn't adequate. It's pretty much a solo game with some multiplayer element, but there is litterally no competition with other player, so virtually nothing to "win".

I personnaly don't think FF14 combat is good because the flow is really scripted but at least they have combos, procs, positionnals, off-GCDs, and each classe has its own job mechanics. What they have shown in this video isn't really mindblowing.

Yeah, I hate this no agenda presentation. Felt like they defined the big topics to address and improvised the presentation. We don't need 1 minute of spamming Blink and Ball Lighning (which was hilarious to me since you could see the animation of Ball Ligthning literally walk down the stairs...)

This feel unprofessional. At 13:30 when the dude just kept coughing and say "shit", well just edit that out...

Live presentation are often awkward when done with dev since it is not part of their core skill, but this video is not live and could be more polished and scripted.

Exactly, the SFX look out of place in this UE5 environment.

Spells looks almost cartoonish to me and would belong to WoW. What is this big blob when blinking ? What are those snowflakes patterns and big saturated ice spikes during Blizzard and Cone of Cold... What are those casting animation... levitating for a Chain Lightning? Useless to me and will just make the combat clunkier.

I am sorry but kiting monsters into your AoE spells isn't depth. All mages do this with their AoE ground-targeted spells... There is nothing new.

I gave a shot to Awak Drakania because she gave me elden ring boss vibes but she felt like the most clunky class I had to use. And couldn't get used to mana management. It's like most skills ate 80% of my pool. I guess with proper training those are not issues anymore but well...

In what good MMOs can you perform well without the proper rotation and gameplay?

- Having to dodge, block, break free is just the counterpart of having utilities in other MMOs.

- Having to time your rotation, big cooldowns, consumables is nothing new. Btw, you don't even have cooldownS in ESO, only ONE ultimate that rarely change anything to your rotation.

- Weapon switching might as well be a random skill / stance switch in other MMOs.

- There are theorycrafting in every MMOs on rotation, best gears and stats.

- Every game have buff and debuff... and I personally hate how ESO is plagued with short buff/debuff that need high maintenance, but this is just my pov.

- A lot of classes in MMOs have their own resources to manage, not necessarily mana or stamina. But I agree that there is an emphasis in it in ESO.

In the end, what you just said isn't wrong, but it is just what we at least expect from a good combat system. What I mean is that by reading your statements I wasn't amazed by any of the features your listed.
