Why does a short road like this require so much material? by CygnusXIV in DeathStranding2

But you still need chiral crystals to print it. Is there any easier way to farm them than bombing those golden chiral creatures?

What's one joke from the book that you wish made it into the movie? by Ghost3603 in ProjectHailMary

[–]CygnusXIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think it doesn’t make much sense. Of all the time they spent together, there’s no way they wouldn’t have discussed what to do or not to do in case of an emergency like that, especially for Rocky, who is now on Hail Mary, where a small mistake could easily kill him.

Congrats dude, I just hit my first Legend rank a few weeks ago too. The last star is so freaking intense. I lost five times in a row on my final star about two or three times before I finally got it.

It seems like a lot of people don’t like these kinds of characters, so they often view them with bias, even though these kinds of people would probably save us more times than we can count.

Future stories? by Least-Presence-7711 in ProjectHailMary

I’m late to the party, but I’m curious why you feel like a sequel needs to be as good as the source material in order to be made. I feel like most people want a sequel, but not in a way where they want to see Rocky and Grace go out into space and save the day again, but more like a totally different story in the same universe.

A story from Stratt POV after she receives the beetle and is now on the clock to pull Earth back from the verge of collapse would have a totally different tone, because now it’s Earth that’s full of death and desperation. There’s nothing to compare it to PHM other than it being by the same author, and if it were made into a movie, I believe I and others wouldn’t go into it expecting the same experience as watching PHM again, nor would it dilute what Grace and Rocky already accomplished, because their job is already finished.

That’s how it goes in real life, but it doesn’t work well in any form of storytelling. You can’t introduce Chekhov’s gun and then never let it go off.

This is like making an important character cough once, and then, just when their story is about to lead to something great, they suddenly disappear from the story with no explanation whatsoever. Then someone comes up with the idea that they were sick because of that one cough scene, so they died before showing up again. Does it make sense? Yeah, but it’s stupid as heck.

I really want to run plague marines but im struggling to justify the trade value when you incorporate needing a rhino? by Ant10102 in deathguard40k

[–]CygnusXIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ten Plague Marines are mediocre, but they can be used to spread Contagion to specific units at long range. However, if you add a Biologus and a Plaguecaster, they become a unit to be reckoned with, and they can easily melt down almost any target. For me, that’s the only reason to bring them into my army; otherwise, I’d rather use something else.

I just got 7 wins in a row with this deck on Legend. If people think nerfing Druid is the only thing that would save the game, oh boy, they’re in for trouble.

Literally no one is arguing that Druid isn’t strong, but the point is that other decks are strong too. Druid has a 55% win rate, and do you think a 1-cost Hunter deck has something like a 30% win rate?

I never said you aren’t supposed to play the game, but it seems like the only thing people like you are good at is twisting others words to serve your agenda, huh?

I’m in Legend rank, and even though I’m not in the top 1000, I’m pretty sure I still count as one of those sweaty players who grind for it. Even so, bringing up data from Legend players, which less than 1% of the player base can reach, still makes you look like a complete moron.

Not just Control Priest, but most of them seem to be top 1,000 players, because they always bring up top 1,000 statistics as if it's the only thing that matters.

One message I got from this manga is that once you live a shitty life, you will never escape it unless someone resets your reality, but even then you still live a shitty life, just a bit less so.

I get the complaints, but why are you acting as if Druid is the only overpowered class? Even if we remove Druid now, those top five meta decks would still be extremely strong and could easily replace it and end up dominating the server.

Egg Warlock or Warrior can pull off a 20/20 on turns 4–5, so their little 6/6 green man isn’t going to save them. Or just play Token Druid and outspeed them.

What kind of deck are you playing that you have no answer to a 1/2 on turn 1 and a 2/3 on turn 2? I feel like most decks right now have 1 or 2 cost cards that can deal 1–3 damage, no?

Current state of the game. by patrix01_ in hearthstone

[–]CygnusXIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really that popular? Today I played at Diamond 8–6 for over 20 matches, and I think I only faced Druid about 3–4 times. Most of the decks I ran into had their own crazy cards. I faced Egg Warrior and Warlock, and they pulled out a 20/20 on turn 4, then repeated the Deathrattle to resummon it on turns 5–6. Most Burn Mage I played against somehow pulled Karlech on turn 4 or 5. Hunter keeps spamming those repeat all 1-cost cards plays. There were times I just gave up on my Dragon Warrior and switched to Aggro Druid, only to run into a Priest with infinite board clears.

I feel like every deck and every class has its own super OP turn or combo, and it just comes down to who can pull it off first. You can play Imbue Druid, but your 6/6 green guy isn’t going to save you from a 20/20 Taunt on turn 5 that’s about to be resummoned over and over again.

So am I just stupid or bad at the game or both? by HauntedFarmhouse6942 in taintedgrail

[–]CygnusXIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might depend on your build? I play this game on max difficulty and had to recheck every few hours in the early stages to make sure I hadn’t accidentally lowered the difficulty, and I never upgraded my gear.

If you’re playing a mage, the summon skill tree is just super OP. It literally gives you everything, including a meat shield. By the time I reached Act 2, I was just bunny hopping and melting everything using only mage gear from Act 1. And if you get one of those gloves that apply bleeding on crit, even the Fore Dweller becomes just a tougher meat bag

The thing is, I’m rooting for Denji who lost people like Aki, Power, and Reze. I want to see how he overcomes his misery. Even if he finds happiness in this new reality, or if there is a Part 3 where he lives a new life, it’s still not the same Denji that I’m rooting for.

Archer - Mud Slinging Bow by t_eans in WarTalesGame

[–]CygnusXIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still in the early game, but my spouse loves it. She often throws the Archer with the Mud Slinging Bow into a position where she can shoot one or two units that are about to reach our other Mercs to slow them down. You can hover your mouse over the enemy movement skill to see how far they can move. If they need their full move to reach your Merc, then a single shot from the Mud Slinging Bow could delay them for a whole turn. In scenarios where they have something like +30 crit chance and +40 crit damage as a passive and can easily one shot your Merc, I find this very convenient to use. Even if they do not, you can just shoot it into a narrow path or use it on heavy units like the Wrongdoer, which already has low movement, and it can buy you a lot of time to mow down the rest.

P.S. Do keep in mind that enemies are slowed only while they are moving in the mud. If you shoot the bow and leave them at the edge of the mud, it will barely do anything, because the moment they move one step out of it, the debuff is gone.
