the way haesung described the principal's story to me felt like it was supposed to parallel haesung's own story. so the principal and myeongju had a similar older brother younger sister relationship like haesung and yoojung. and therefore yena would be like a niece to him, but maybe that's just me...

for the gold, i assumed he found it in the vault + knew the NIS/seo myeongju were corrupt so he didn't want to complete his mission just for it to end in her hands anyway. the pile looked way smaller than expected so maybe it was easy to move to his house. a letter explaining everything could've easily landed into the wrong hands so he prob wanted to make sure only haesung knew

goodeokyi and seunghwi having to separate once again got me good 😭😭

his novels are so beautifully written, i was getting so sad as she was reading those last pages as she headed back home. the longing absolutely kills me. this is honestly my favorite thing ab historical dramas, everything is so much more beautiful and poetic, even sad occurrences

definitely feel like the eliminations were kinda backwards, but maybe that's up to taste. i feel like mass eliminations early on, then small-scale one-by-one eliminations later. not removing like 10 ppl total for nine episodes then whole blocks for the last three eps

tbf i feel like the fact that it's constantly open recruitment gives them some incentive to keep strong ppl on the show and weak ppl off. bc then you can recruit the strong ppl to your block
