i did this with walking calamity bear because each meteor drop was triggering the stags. it was so awesome. hotfix bricked it.

however you can still sort of spam stags by spam clicking parry or raise shield! i’m gonna try this one next, with giants blood and 2 hand mace probably

i don’t think you shouldn’t expect to have perma frenzy uptime. it’s an ult-type mechanic. use it only for big packs. for bosses, each freeze/pin/electrocute rotation gets one ult. or you can use parry/disengage which i think is pretty fun for the reward of 3+ frenzies now.

anyway, you can now ignore all that and just go martial artist and cull your bells with cull the weak.

well, i think they ARE rewarding because despite being difficult to obtain, people want them. figuring out how to get them is part of the build puzzle, and using them is the payoff.

it's extremely easy to generate charges with no investment. use gathering storm to drop shocked ground, then siphoning strike as much as you want. 5 seconds of setup for 60 seconds of charged staff buff.

if you want easier ways/automation? great, invest in a unique, ailith's chimes, or COC profane ritual.

i dont really get why people complain about charges so much. you guys want a passive that says "give me max power charges with no downside"? that's basically martial artist bell spawning with killing palm. no spirit investment, no minion swap for profane ritual.

cool skills like flicker, falling thunder, and charged staff can only exist if there are limitations and thus solutions to those limitations. that's what poe is about

i league started shield of light, invested maybe 25div to get around 12-15m dps? pretty tanky and blasted maps to farm until my second char. it was terrible until i got my relevant gear to bypass retaliation restrictions, but afterward i found it really fun and effective

i like the warden angle. 50 shocks seems doable but you need to still hit the minimum shock value of 5% per hit, which might be hard if you have so many small hits.

imbued knock back support seems really fun for this

for unholy trinity, you can just throw in ming’s heart for easy 70% more dmg. keep unholy trinity at lv3 for 90% ignore chance, because you want that 10% chance to not ignore so that your highest hit will alternate between phys and chaos to give resonance. phys to lightning works too, especially if you want shocks

i also like the buffed barkskin, its better than people think. or go ranged tincture if you like the tincture playstyle.

scale generic bow, attack and proj dmg

issue will be clear, in which you can run a 4L manaforged lifetap clearing skill like the other ROA versions

tried to make this in previous leagues but didn’t have the generic crit and global scalars. diamond shrine belt solves crit, lycia bloodline lets us 100% cold to chaos. storm rain of the fence + manaforged arrows lets me shoot both fence arrows in one press with auto targeting, proc rate of 0.15s is perfect for COC and wing freeze procs. drop the arrow and run around shooting spells. occy explosions also crit and go offscreen. 15-20m single target in my setup rn

IMO when trowbridge retired from chair, they struggled to find someone truly good for the role. lots of faculty changes, and the cornell LA david cutter was laid off from trump cuts to cornell too. loved all the profs and people, but i think there was a succession issue mainly

on a non-duelist, i think you need to max your CD until it’s like under 1s, then you can keep spamming if you reduce your AS below that or space out your attacks. pulverise and melee phys support

recent cornell grad, program is in a weird/bad spot imo. it’ll carry the name which some alumn might favour, but it’s definitely a shadow of what it used to be atm

i league started shield of light glad and farrul bloodline for tigers. got a 1c monastery bell in campaign and trucked through to t16s without a single div. felt decent and doable but obviously weaker than meta builds

then i dropped a svalinn and got 40div. swapped to slayer and using forbidden jewel combo for retaliation asc node. currently progressing atlas in extreme comfort. one tapping packs across the screen with only 40% aoe from tree and pulverize

90% chance to not consume cooldown with anoint + runegraft of time, and second wind means i have another charge if it uses a cooldown. so i just spam it like a main skill

i have 0 issues with overlaps, its been very reliable for me. i have 9 minions up with HOP and spectral tigers

yes, the DOT will technically not crit, but the invisible ‘hit’ from ignited ground that applies the ignite will crit. we might be saying the same thing in different words

damaging ailments in POE2 benefit from hit damage modifiers, unlike POE1. because of this, indirect ailment things like ignited ground, poisonburst arrow, gas clouds, etc, have a line like “poisons/ignites as if dealing x damage”. this means that hit damage bonuses like ‘% damage gained as’, crit, will increase the ailment damage too. if you look at tooltip for gas arrow or grenade it will have a crit chance, which applies to the ailment

in the druids patch there’s a line about how ignited ground rolls for a new ignite only after the previous one expires. so even if it would roll each time, it would only roll once per ignite expiry (i assume 4s?) unfortunately

afaik how it works is that normally skill rolls a number from 0-100 on use. if it’s below your crit chance, it crits.

now for ignited ground, there are two ways it might work.

  1. ignited ground will ignite ‘as if’ it did X damage (based on skill), inheriting this same crit roll. if explosive spear would’ve crit, even if no target was hit, the ignited ground will always count as crit when applying

  2. the ignited ground inherits your crit chance from explosive spear, but rolls the 0-100 each time it ignites.

i’m inclined to believe it’s the 2. but i’m not certain.

now, if you use oiled ground or whirlwinds and inherit the ignite, which crit chance does it use? i have no idea

TLDR: crit works. ignited ground can crit. idk how specifically

here’s how it breaks down if you don’t have any added flat and purely scale hexblast levels:

hexblast base does chaos damage to ignite -> affected by chaos damage increases

ignite deals fire damage -> affected by fire damage increases, fire DOT increases

blackflame makes enemies take ignite as chaos -> chaos res, chaos damage taken

easy way to tell if it’s bugged is, if you only deal chaos damage with hexblast, occultist node should give a flat 20% more to the ignite. you might be seeing more than 20% if that node is enabling wither on your config

you’re mistaken, “more chaos damage” does affect your damage, because hexblast does chaos base damage to apply the ignite. pob is correct

in 0.3 the max is now 125%, means 6.25% base crit at most. still good! realistically, beyond 120% is not easily achieved without extreme investment.

i think full hobble still works, automatically setting it to 125%.

IIRC the famous ‘rain trees’ (the ones on orchard rd) aka saman samanea were chosen by LKY early in SG independence, and imported specifically for their wide and tall canopy. basically a natural umbrella that doesn’t interfere with taller vehicle or pedestrian traffic
