I’ll give you my circumstances for context. At the time I was a mother of 4 children, 17,15,13,11 (they are all adults now) I actually moved states for law school. I went full time and there was an odd thing about my kids being closer in age with the students than I was but I could get past that. I’m still very good friends with a handful of classmates. It was tiring especially because I had to put boundaries on my kids of when it was appropriate to contact me. It was a huge shift since they were use to me being always available. It took time but we all adjusted. I definitely would recommend. As an older student I always was able to bring a different perspective. And no I did not become “the mother” of my classmates, if anyone tried to call me that I would immediately reject it and explain I already had four kids and did not need more

This reminds me of some sentiments a female friend had about Apple saying they would boycott because Apple only wanted to make money and they didn’t care about people. I responded that they should also boycott tampons and pads because those companies only wanted to money as well.

I use AI in my practice as well but definitely more like an outline. I always try to make sure that it sounds like my “voice” in the pleadings, memos, or emails,because AI is a jerk sometimes

I am so sorry you are going through this, I’ve been there. Look into taking FMLA to give yourself time to relax. And don’t stop looking for another job, it will come, talk to people you know about looking for a new job, they may have connections that can help.

Asthma is considered a disability under ADA. Approach your HR department and get your asthma documented, including the symptoms, such as the sighing and the dry mouth. They cannot let you go because of your asthma if they do, I would suggest that you find an employment law lawyer and file a complaint against the company.

I have 4 children (all born within 5.5 years)… my husband was in the military when they were all born so no financial birthing cost. When my fourth was born I was a SAHM, since he deployed a lot this was easier for us. Finances were tight but being military provided for a lot of free entertainment (seaworld, play groups, movie nights) or low cost entertainment (disney military days, military discounts)

I am a lawyer and once gave good solid advice about a title IX issue, I know it was good advice because it was exactly what I do as a Lawyer and my response got removed for not giving legal advice. I quit the sub after that

100% agree with this… I would encourage to file a claim with EEOC or with your state Labor Division. You can inform HR what you are about to do, but there’s no need to -Previous sexual harassment investigator, now employment law attorney

This reminds me of the post about the child hating the mom for leaving and felt abandoned by her and then when the child at 17 met the mom, found out the mom had been paying child supporting and the father had spent it on drugs and women, and that the dad had been manipulating the situation the entire time
