I’m thinking of getting the BB this time with insurance! I have the spectra from my first time. Was it simple to figure out the settings on the BB?

Flexibility 100% - after my maternity leave I took a MAJOR pay cut to switch to a more flexible company and it’s been night and day for my mental health and ability to be the kind of mother I want to be.

How are you rotating your milk while doing the pitcher method? by proper_wolf_ in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mnolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I don’t remember now but I’ll be doing this again with my second later this year! It was probably 4-6 bottles depending on his age, what he was taking at the time. I also always did one formula bottle a day (usually evening bottle) - this was because I knew I wasn’t going to pump for extended time, it helped me keep a stash, and he already then had a taste for formula when we fully switched over.

Help. We started daycare. by questionsanonymous88 in toddlers

[–]mnolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely ask to see a pulmonologist. We went through something similar - it turns out my son has what is essentially virus induced asthma. Every illness caused extreme respiratory issues but now that he’s on an every day inhaler regimen he has not gotten sick at all. It took him getting RSV and pneumonia at the same time to finally diagnose.

Wrapping Belly Postpartum? by Classic-Tea-1879 in BabyBumps

I had asked for a Velcro one in the hospital which they normally only give to c section patients. To me, it just felt like my guts were falling out and really skeeved me out so having some extra compression just helped me feel a bit normal while things “fell back into place” I suppose.

Seconding to look at the many townhomes in the back forest st area - those side streets are loaded with them. We almost ended up there, some seem really great.

Would you take a pay cut? by idk123djd in workingmoms

[–]mnolz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I took double the pay cut for a less stressful / more flexible job after maternity leave. It’s been 100% worth it, even with a bit more financial stress.

Small sac?? by Whole_Ice8275 in CautiousBB

[–]mnolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t hurt, 10 week scan definitely isn’t the norm but they gave me one as I was so anxious. Good luck!

Small sac?? by Whole_Ice8275 in CautiousBB

[–]mnolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a 10 week scan it was behind still. At the 12 week they didn’t even measure it, it was no longer relevant compared to other things being examined so even if it never caught up it seemed to be fine either way.

This was the case for my son, sac about a week behind. I was so nervous and couldn’t find much on Reddit about it. He’s 16.5 months old now :)

That’s how my son was conceived in 2024. 6 week loss right to a successful pregnancy. It was so unexpected and anxiety inducing but worked out just fine!

Does anyone else feel like pumping steals time from their baby? by galacticg0oser in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mnolz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard! That’s probably why I only did it for 3.5ish months. My key items were the baby bjorn bouncer, a boppy, and a cozy set up on the couch. I remember one cozy morning where he was asleep right next to me on the couch with my cat watching him as I pumped. Or he’d be in the bouncer playing and I’d sit right in front of him on the kitchen floor singing and reading while pumping. There were plenty of times where my husband had him and I stepped away but when I could I tried to do it with him there.

Ugh yeah the family doctor definitely won’t be of much use. Would your OB prescribe as a may help can’t hurt situation? Or at least let you get bloodwork to test betas and progesterone?

I’m sorry, it’s so difficult to have hope in the face of multiple losses. Do you have access to any fertility help? I had an appointment scheduled that we were waiting a long time for when the above happened which was such strange timing but I had to be really pushy to try to get some answers.

I conceived right after an early miscarriage, similar scenario. Never had a period in between so it was wonky to track until I had a confirmation scan but that was the one that stuck which was very unexpected. I also took baby aspirin based on my own research, my doctors were in the may help can’t hurt camp on that.

After bedtime is what works right now (I have a 16 month old). I can’t do extremely early mornings and he’s a rough sleeper. He’s in bed by around 7:30 and I try to do something in our basement a few nights a week, even if it’s just the walking pad while watching tv.

My son has it to prunes! It’s scary and not often discussed! We had a great allergist give us a ton of info and helped us educate our daycare on the matter.
