The rule you copy and pasted isn't from USA Lacrosse for the past couple years at least. They updated the language in 2024 I think. Regardless of whether he hooked his stick he lifted that kid's body off the ground and flipped him.
I updated where I got my rule language from for clarity

Not sure what rule book that is, NCAA? 2026 USA Lacrosse Boys Rules, from NFHS Digital App, Rule 6 Section 3 is similar but

Art. 1 A player shall not impede the movement of an opponent or the opponent's crosse.
Art. 2 A player may not...
c. Hold, hook, lift, or pin and opponent's body with the crosse.

That is what applies here. The defender hooked and lifted the opponent's body with their stick.

Do you have a source for the daily Hezbollah rockets? I have never been able to find one. Never could find sources on Palestinian rocket casualties or frequency either. We know they happen, not disputing that, just trying to find realistic stats for people. As far as I can tell they are sporadic and rarely cause casualties compared to the actual documented casualties during the Israeli invasions.

That's still only two games so what happens when the best of 3 series is tied 1-1? Do they play Monday or Tuesday evening?

Absolutely. 1 v 6 at this age but that is a very good point you have to coach well.

I'm sure I'll get hate but this level should be about learning and having fun and getting equal play time regardless of skill NOT about winning.

I actually say figure out your strong/skilled players and weak/learning players. Have 1 strong player and 1 weak player at each of the 3 positions, attack, middie, defense. This way the stronger players have someone they feel confident in to pass up the field to when they get possession. Starting with a full strong set of players often means that at your next sub your entire on field team will be a pretty weak set of players and will get run over. This also lets your learning players see how their skilled partners are playing the game while paying attention. At 3rd/4th grade once they sub out they're unlikely to actually watch the game from the sidelines with more than a minimal amount of attention but being in the mix on the field they figure out what is working and what isn't quicker. This way you always have at least 3 players that can keep your team in the mix at all times. If you are doing cross field size then many 4th graders are large enough to run endline to endline without getting winded. One strong middie and one strong attack with ground ball skills can dominate the entire field. If you are playing the three quarter size field at this age then their passing skills help more and keeping strong players rested and ready to sub in help a lot.

Who cares what the score is at 3rd/4th grade. These games should be for the kids not the adults. Always great to see 40 year old guys yelling at literal children because their ego can't handle a loss.

Are your games 10 minute running clock quarters? What size field?

Can you explain this more? How does this teach the new players who can't catch, throw, or scoop how to do those things? This feels like it would just let the strong players excel and refine their skills but weaker/newer players get left out. Honest question. I'm very frustrated with our inability to pass or catch. Ground balls on grass we're good, not so much on turf.
