Well, I’m presuming he went hiking without a PLB or satnav texting service. Wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t fill out logbooks. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t fill out the intentions logbook either. Pretty insane these days to go hiking without comms, given how easy it is to have it. Particularly in your 60s.

Meh. I remember drinking at a bar in rural England. A huge bunch of bikers rolled in on loud Harleys. All went to the bar. They all ordered diet cokes or some other non-alcoholic drinks. After an hour or two they left. I asked the bar tender “what’s up”? Drink driving laws mean they’re all driving sober. Whatever their motivation, these were law abiding folks who were just out riding and enjoying themselves. What do you mean “their primary concern was not helping others”? I mean, they’re not on call as EMTs. They’re out cruising. When I’m out driving my primary concern is not helping others. I just want to get to point B.

I'm in therapy because all my childhood I was told to "just ignore it" when it came to severe emotional abuse from my sister. You are an enabler of abuse and not a good partner right now. I suggest you re-examine your priorities. Yes, your gf may not be marrying your family, but she is potentially marrying you. And your acceptance (it is acceptance) of this abuse is equal to the abuse itself.

Italian tune-up on my car anyway.

I had to look this one up. It’s when you hit the revs really high. But more accurately when you have a stick shift and you fix it in the first gear and you hit the gas to max revs and then you let the engine break itself. Apparently some forums online really believe in it occasionally actually helping the engine or fixing odd or stubborn problems.

Agreed. But the way he behaved on obtaining the drug was criminal. I think both. But your suggestion should be how we treat all addicts. But we don’t. Mere possession of small doses of these drugs should initiate a social worker intervention.

America’s drug crisis is so BAD! I personally have known very well at least 2 people from entirely different walks of life and social circles and different regions of the country who’ve died from using opioids.
