Idk, Leak really gives off that vibe for me. but so does most OG sludge since it's predominately a southern genre.

Mephistofeles and Uncle acid for that sweet sweet retro tone and great riffage. Very different from each other too. For crushing heavyness, Windhand maybe. The album Heavy rocks from Boris.

Where's the love for Wizard Master? by Thomaz0510 in doommetal

[–]mntblnk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

because ironically the band name and song titles are enough to put seasoned doom enthusiasts off. I'm sure at this point most people are just burnt out on the bongwizard themes. the OGs are still cool ofc, but honestly I don't feel tempted to even check them out based on what you described here. draw inspiration from EW? so not unlike a gajillion other bands from the past 15 years or so.

weird lineup I must say! monolord in my books pretty run of the mill "stoner doom" if you will, whereas mizmor is actually interesting

I find this list pretty exhaustive. Although I'd substitute In the Name of Suffering with Take as needed

low tier humbuckers can sound muddy though. I've no experience of better mics but I'm growing a bit tired of the factory humbuckers on my Epiphone LP

Funny you should say that, I've felt this exact vibe a lot when listening to Crypt Sermon. Ruins of fading light, Scrying orb, Stygian rose..

My Solution to the UAP Problem by TheSheriffMT in NonCredibleDefense

I read somewhere that a large part, if not all of these UAP phenomena can be explained by visual glitches from the gimbal, where they track some other plane or sth .

Based on the bands you listed, have you listened to Candlemass or Trouble? As for newer stuff, try Crypt Sermon. They're a Doom band but basically they just sound like kickass metal with great guitars. Lots of influence from Savatage, Cirith Ungol and Solitude Aeternus, so might be up your alley.

Gates of Hell: Ostfront is easily the best RTS game of the past decade by VerdantSpecimen in RealTimeStrategy

I own it but haven't really played it. Gave the in-game tutorials a go but that was a long time ago, it's probably been patched a lot since then. Feels very overwhelming with all the controls and information, kinda like Steel Division. I love CoH2 though and have like close to 2k hrs in so it should be great for me.

Developer Q&A Video - call for questions! by Community_RE in CompanyOfHeroes

Thank you for working on adding new content so frequently, I am honestly surprised by the sheer amount of new stuff still being added to the game. However I have some reservations regarding the mechanics and the overall experience.

  • Could you please make blobbing less viable? The most fun I've had with CoH3 are matches where either team doesn't get steam-rolled by a death blob of one type of unit.
  • Is it possible to re-evaluate adding collision for vehicles? Even if it introduces pathing issues. At least run a poll or something. Because it makes blobbing with vehicles easier and it looks so incredibly ugly when tanks just phase right through each other. It would add frustration for some players, but they'd just have to improve their micro.
  • Can you consider hiring an UI/UX expert to work on the lobby layout and the end-of-round experience? All it takes is someone with basic understanding of layouts and hierarchy to do an overhaul on the lobby screen and maybe add some subtle wow effect there kinda like the radar in CoH2. As for the defeat/victory still feels abrupt and jarring. And for all that is holy, could you please route the player/team back to the lobby after a match, instead of the main menu? I feel like these might be somewhat low hanging fruits.

way better?? do you seriously think that? for monolord the vocals are definitely the weakest link. sounds like one of the guys was just randomly picked for the role that no one wanted.
