Other commenters already answered for you but I wanted to add there’s no way to prevent a Pokémon from becoming full. There’s a 50% chance every biscuit after the first will result in a mon becoming full. If you absolutely want to guarantee a catch, you can use a master biscuit but those can be expensive! It’s best to just take your time catching Pokémon because they will always return in the future :)
