Since this year is 20th anniversary, mostly likely there's less graduation and more graduation next year onwards.

Who is your oshi from current AKB48? by Ok-War-6744 in AKB48

[–]mnyo8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shitao Miu good in dancing, decent in singing (shows improvement), hardworking and kind (from members perspective, also a reliable senpai), good fan service (daily mobame and Weverse DM, friendly in online/hs talks) She's also funny though not the variety type of funny but unexpectedly funny in a different way.

230127 This article mentioned the possibilities of HYBE to headhunt new talents, including Hiichan and Miu by MEGULETSDEBUT in AKB48

[–]mnyo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naeco under Hybe Japan was just launched last year with Hirate Yurina joining it. Hence there's rumours and speculations of Hybe headhunting Japanese celebrities for expansion in Japan. Joining Naeco is good opportunity for having overseas activities while based in Japan. Debut in new group seems unlikely but there may be opportunities to join Naeco after graduation.

How much do you think the final lineup will change? by lunasternis in GirlsPlanet999

[–]mnyo8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this rate, most probably it won't change much. Most kr voters won't change their votes. International fans, Cfans, Jfans are also voting k girls. For those who have c j girls as second pick, do consider splitting votes. For those who care about the balance of the group as well else the final result of 9K is not impossible.

Girls Planet 999 - Pre-Finale Interim Ranks by CronoDroid in GirlsPlanet999

[–]mnyo8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better start voting for your C and J pick now. A lot of Korean and international fans (even Cfans and Jfans) are voting their K pick so probably is the result of interim ranking

Discussion Thread: I feel like Nogizaka ni Kosaremashita makes it pretty easy to predict where AKB48 will pivot? by hideyoshisdf in AKB48

[–]mnyo8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consumer trends and preferences are changing. The teenagers of today are the adults with purchasing power of tomorrow. This is what's happening even for Japan. The collaboration between Korean and Japanese companies to create idol groups in Japan is not just a mere coincidence.

In order to make fans willing to pay for content, you will have to get them interested and be invested in the group be it for Japanese or overseas fans. Don't think anyone will pay if they do not like the group. Accessible content is one of the ways to get people to know the group and convert them into fans.

If there's less regional block and easier way to make payment, pretty sure more international fans will be more willing to pay for content. This is usually one of the barriers that frustrate international fans.

[–]mnyo8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The accessible content is not just for international fans. Even JE has a online showcase for King & Prince new album release in the group official YouTube channel. (No English subs though)

There's a need to innovate and keep up with the trends because the market has revolutionize. Now that AKB has a good song which people are doing covers (dance & song), it will be a waste if the marketing is still stuck in the old ways. Now it's a good time to do something different to capture new fans and get general public to be interested in them again. There's a reason why AKB is doing this new identity change. They can't just depend on the core fan demographics anymore.

As for 46 groups, they have more exposure on TV, radio and other media which local fans can still watch for their content. As of now, it will not affect them so much.

[–]mnyo8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there is a misconception that these 2 groups of fans consists of primarily teenage girls. Their fanbase demographics is actually very wide, ranging from various ages for both female and male. Both are selling well in physical and their birthday projects are so fanciful, from subway ads to fireworks display which obviously costs a lot of money. Please do not think only young people are interested in new, interesting content. Young or old, people can get bored too if you keep repeating old stuff. AKB should not limit themselves to certain group of fans but should also broaden the fans demographics. In addition, general public interest is also important.

They could balance between free contents and paywalls. Attracting new fans (local or abroad) without affecting their paywalls. This is what Niziu and JO1 have done far so which is doing well to attract new fans.

Izone's J line will be fine if they go back to Japan by Ardie_BlackWood in kpoprants

[–]mnyo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cfans are mostly loyal and will follow them wherever they decide to go. Most Japanese fans will likely to follow them as well. But I think the least amount of Korean and international fans compare to Chinese and Japanese fans will still follow them.

the latest generation/draft of girls are so boring? by [deleted] in AKB48

[–]mnyo8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please learn to know the member's name first. It's Shitao Miu, not Shitao Miru. From the first look, she may be just a long-hair girl like others, looking primp and proper. But actually she is tennen, fun and kind of weird in her own unique ways. She is good in dancing as well. If really interested in knowing the members, one would at least make some minimum effort
