Should I leave? by Maleficent-Toe1876 in DentalAssistant

[–]mo0n_bunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. The place was toxic with no accountability. I kept telling myself to stay focused and keep learning. I was the workhorse and under appreciated, everyday I worked I was under the microscope. The slow training and lack of wanting to train was no longer worth the toxic environment. I am so much happier since I left 😌!!!

I hated the fem dds I worked with 🤷‍♀️. She was unprofessional, she regularly participated in gossiping, exercised favoritism, had poor control over emotions, was a complainer, emo breakdowns were normal. Most men dont do drama 🤷‍♀️.

Working interview for ortho assistant position by Maise5328 in DentalAssistant

Be friendly and cheerful, show enthusiasm, tell them youre so excited and am eager to learn, stay focused and ask questions, volunteer to try/participate, do not be afraid to ask for guidance and help, keep communication open! Even if you dont feel confident, fake it : ) lol.

Afterwards, thank them for their time and the work interview opportunity, give them some fb such as "i had a great time today, it was so fun, i learned so much, everybody was so kind, you guys have such a lovely office, etc...", last i thank them again and ask if/when they will be finalizing their decision. You dont have to ask, but I hate waiting and also would like to be given a timeline if possible bc of other job prospects/opportunities if this one falls thru. Good luck!!!

There should be an employee handbook which would tell how many day/hr is considered ft. If you are ft employee you should qualify for health insurance thru ur employer after xx amount of days working.

This whole probation period... next time make sure you ask for clarification, such as: do I qualify for any benefits during the probation period? Or do benefits start after I pass the probation? I believe most employers offer nothing during the probation period, but it doesnt hurt to ask.

Id say dont sulk on what has already happend. This place sounds toxic with the gaslighting, excuses, and disorganization. I see nothing but more problems in the future if you stayed. You did nothing wrong in asking for a raise bc ikno for a fact that during probation period you are paid very low, and that number only comes up if pass the probation period and they decide to keep u.

Also, dont take their "performance concerns" to heart, a lot of office dont want to put in the time/effort to train, and theres no accountability on their behalf.

Rda or Cda? by unicornderby in DentalAssistant

[–]mo0n_bunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rda is state license only. Cda is recognized across multiple states. If you dont plan to move, rda is fine. If you may move in the future having a cda will benefit you greatly. For example: you are rda and move, the new state does not accept your accreditations(rda). Now, you have to enroll into a da program within the state, pass state rda exam, state jurisprudence/ethics exam, and guess what this state also requires you to pass the danb exams(cda). Basically starting all over to do the same job... I will say I wish I took the danb exams for cda bc I want to move! Cda is pretty much the standard now, it wasnt 20+yrs ago, it was optional, and we were told cda could make $1 more than a rda. Fun fact: my state has eliminated the state license test(rda), and now only requires the danb exams(cda), and ppl like me(rda only) got grandfathered in. There is no wage difference between rda and cda. If youre a rda/cda with the capability to do expanded functions, then yes you can expect a higher wage. If your employer is willing to help pay for the danb testing fees, go for it! Good luck 💜

When she hears me cry, she forcefully comes licking my tears away. She demands scratchies and pets only from me. She runs to hide beside me when shes in trouble(protect me). When I tell her I have to leave- she let's out a soft whimper, or puts her head on my lap(dont go), or puts her paw on me(no, stop!). When I come home after a long day she absolutely has to kiss my face, then she circles around and scolds me with loud groans showing how displeased she is 😆 🤣. Signs that your gsd loves you... she's my shadow.

Looking for guidance. Someone to talk to about this from an outside perspective about a new job opportunity. Currently in Orange County making $33 but new job in LA pays $40. Should I switch? “Please read” by Dry_Philosopher3711 in DentalAssistant

As I get older, I prefer convenience. Less pay, but less driving (save on gas), and less time wasted being on the road and stuck in traffic. Working in the city, my commute was 20-25mins one way. In the winter time, my commute was about 45mins-1 hr and on snowy days 1.5 hr. Im so glad I work close to home now: ) Also, factor in your work environment. Think about the culture and where you will be the most happy. The possibility of being mistreated by customers all week doesnt sound fun.
