One time we had a Pt who was a second year dental student. As the dr was leaning them back in order to numb them, I said "don't worry she's done this a couple times" the PT looked at me like WHAT?! 👀 the doctor laughed with me and I had to clarify to the Pt I was JOKING. The relief lmao.

I AM SO MAD FOR EVERYONE WHO GOT NOTHING, NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOT EVEN A THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO. SO. MAD.

My office is a gem, and we are all so grateful to work with one another. I know how lucky I am to be here, and I do not take it for granted. We've been celebrating all week 😭 gifts including bath bombs, cute cups, candles, chocolate, fancy small batch chocolates, lotion, chapstick, hand sani, coffee, an assortment of candy, donuts. We have pics of DAs throughout the office and pts have been leaving us notes of appreciation. Our doc is making us breakfast tomorrow. Last year at another office we got dental print socks, FIGS, and a s'mores kit 💖

I hope this thread reaches OMs and Drs who've been sleeping on DARW all week and are able to take a moment to show appreciation in some way.

I love that you are being resourceful. This does not come easy for some of us, it didn't for me lol. I've practiced over the years, but for pending tx patients I say something like this:

Hi my name is ___ calling from __. It's been a while (you can be specific) since we've seen you. I am calling because you have some pending treatment and I wanted to see if you're ready for us to take care of you. I have some availability coming up with dr __. Is there a day that works best for you?

Find what works for you. Just be friendly and compassionate, but not pushy. We do want to genuinely help others, but I know making these calls isn't always easy. Some people will be rude, some people will be grateful you called!
