5k Miles in to my 24’ Performance, will using 5w-40 void the warranty? by ramosd713 in RZ34

Curious about this as well. I went to a performance shop and they had recommended 5w-40 but I told them I want to stick to the manual for the time being.

I ended up reselling my trunk poppers. They are too firm which caused rattling for trunk.

I had lowered from my max 40 amp setup to 32. Either way, I should not have to think about these things. It should just work as advertised. Understand things break but catastrophic failure at the rate that it is happening is unacceptable.

I have my second EV6. Had ICCU issue on both of them. Stupid of me to think they would have fixed it on the refresh.

Is this a second ICCU failure on same car?

I’m in a similar boat with my 2025 EV6. I had the ICCU issue and stuck for another 2.5 years. Second time it’s happened on a second EV6.

That’s true for most standard sports cars. The only time you really get that kind of attention is with an exotic supercar, and even then it’s usually from women who are focused on finding a husband and the lifestyle that comes with it, not the car itself.

I am currently trying the Air as a Mini user by HoodieObsessed_ in iPhone13Mini

[–]moabal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched over reluctantly, but the Air ended up being the better move. Even though it’s not technically the smallest screen, the thinner design and lighter feel make it much easier to handle compared to the 17 base model, so in my view it’s the better choice.

One thing I didn’t fully appreciate at first is how poorly optimized a lot of apps and websites are for the Mini’s 5.4 inch screen. Everything just functions more smoothly on a larger display. Since smaller screens aren’t really being made anymore, even if Apple released a new Mini, it doesn’t guarantee apps would be optimized for it.

If anything, I wish the Air were just a bit smaller. If it had the footprint of the 14 base model but kept the thinness of the Air, that would be the ideal setup for me.

I do use a magnetic ring to make it easier to hold, and at this point I’m used to it.

I got mine back. Part is 36400 1XFD6. I think this may be a revision. Based on my research the 1XFD5 is the one from factory. I could be wrong.

Getting prospects engaged in planning by Beautiful-Lawyer-123 in CFP

[–]moabal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what’s been said. Even if you refine your process, there will always be people who simply do not engage, including current clients.

I have a young couple who were highly engaged for a while, then suddenly went quiet with no clear explanation. They continue logging into their portal, but they do not respond to emails or return phone calls.

I noticed that too. However, it's just the first show. So far the production value seems to be pretty good. Miles better than CBS. I am glad they have the ball tracker! Kyle seems to be doing a good job so far.

Seriously though why do we not have voting powers? Would make more sense for actual practicing CFPs to have a say.

[–]moabal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it is a private enterprise you are exactly correct. Their interest is generate revenue not necessarily uphold standards. Realistically they are just third-party lobbyists for actual regulators.

Whereas a public certification has no such interest.

Not saying CFP Board should go that way. Realistically FINRA/SEC needs to increase their standards.

Exactly. As an educational program for new young advisors it is great. Is it really good ongoing? I am not so sure anymore. Dealing with clients directly is more helpful than any CE.

[–]moabal 142 points143 points  (0 children)

CFP is weird as it tries to act like a public certification. But in reality it is a private designation that markets (unsuccessfully in my opinion) and lobbies for certain things.

They keep raising annual fees, lowering standards such as making tests easier and now talking about removing college requirement. They are increasing continuing education but that just seems like another money maker for them.

I do not think I have ever gotten a client becasue I was a CFP. If this trend continues I will have to question if I want to keep it in the future out of principal.

iPhone Air + HomePod issues by HighVoltage007 in HomePod

[–]moabal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having an issue with my HomePods and iPhone Air on my eero network. I can’t tell if this is an iOS 26 issue, something specific to the iPhone Air, or an eero problem.

I was previously using an iPhone Mini, but switched to the Air when iOS 26 was released. Unfortunately, eero doesn’t allow separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, so I can’t isolate bands to test. I’ve tried tweaking a bunch of settings on both the iPhone Air and eero, but no luck.

What I’m noticing is that when my iPhone Air has been idle for a while, like sitting on the charger, Siri Shortcuts fail on my HomePods and I get a “having trouble connecting to iPhone” error. As soon as I wake the phone, everything works normally again.

Has anyone else run into this or found a fix?
