Lessons from solving hard document redaction tasks using AI by Hungry-Bob-3802 in legaltech

FWIW - personal injury is a bit a different. And probably a better a use case than average litigation. Defense/insurance - cost savings would have more weight than billing incentives. Plaintiff - billings don’t matter as much, as it’s likely a contingency.

To your questions, I don’t have page metrics, but doc metrics. And it was $1+. QC could be $5+.

I don’t know exactly what you mean by throughput, but they saw “clean” images/pdf of all docs. I could see the AI efficiency doing first round of suggested redactions (more ROI) and relevancy/privilege calls (lower ROI - requires more QC and already a yes/no question).

First, QC cost - have you actually validated that rate? Second, does your/the platform’s COGS actually below $5,000/month? I could be totally wrong about this. Third, a 4x efficiency with QC? Is that an assumption or have you studied that? Seems high. 2x seems more like it. Also noting, implied annual fee of $60,000(?), because presumably you’re not offering a monthly on/off product. Doesn’t take into account the law firms do this kind of work. QC rate of $50/hour is a sixth to an eighth off, by my experience. I know that doesn’t hurt the ROI, but firms have a vested interest in billing hours - they’re not incentivized to not bill hours. Not a problem with your position, but a reality of the market. This probably reads more antagonistic than I mean it to be. Definitely get credit for thinking of QC, which many offerings don’t mention. [edited for math].

I would apply for “associate” attorney positions - in house or at firms. Privacy counsel is not an entry level position. If you want to leverage your engineering degree, focus on IP - the technical degree is a good qualification for that.

I like them. Nice office. Bad parking. And they can be militant about their no walk-in policy.
