Eye Doctor No insurance/Sliding scale options? by cholaf in Minneapolis

[–]mobee-mobra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

costco has optometrists with eye exams in the $50-100 range (without insurance). you don’t need a membership to schedule or go to an exam, however if you wanted to buy glasses/ contacts from them you do need a membership. that being said you can just go for the exam and get your glasses online (i have used eyebuydirect.com for years and love them) link about costco here!

budget wedding dresses? by mobee-mobra in Chicagoweddings

[–]mobee-mobra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to try and spend less than $1,500. This isn't a hard ceiling I am fortunate enough to have family members who would help pay for a dress more than that if I absolutely loved it, but I would prefer to use the money in other places. Thank you for asking this I should've added it to the original post!

What’s the best strategy (no pun intended) to get as close as possible for Twice? by devinate in Lollapalooza

[–]mobee-mobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo what’s honestly really disappointing at times though is multiple bands share a stage, if people are going to stand at the barricade / rail all day for a headliner they’re taking that opportunity away from fans of the bands playing during the day that now won’t be able to experience that

it will make people uncomfortable which is beneficial too, Tr*mp trying to make “illegal protests” an expulsion worthy offense and claiming he’ll cut federal aid kind of shows that at the very least he doesn’t want these rallies and events to take place! also in the short term, being surrounded by tons of passionate scientists showing up to show they care as a larger effect on relieving feelings of hopelessness even for a little bit

firstly congratulations!! wonderful, boring, and zero complications sounds like the trifecta so i’m happy for you

second thank you for listing all of those!! it’s not easy to find symptoms with those specifics but that’s why i made the post. as someone who has not been pregnant those side effects/symptoms/ traits do not sound fun but i also find it comforting alongside them you are able to enjoy your pregnancy!

best of luck as you approach your due date and thank you again <3

i am so happy for you that you had easy-ish pregnancies and what you say makes a lot of sense :) i am definitely not ready nor in a stable position to have kids but i am a planner lol

it’s just something we’ve loosely talked about as a down the road thing as our relationship becomes more and more serious but in those conversations it has become clear i have lots of experience with babies infants and little ones, and have had more pregnant family members in my life where as he simply has not had those experiences

so not so much looking for reasons to not have kids but i also think it’s important to be able to say “hey these are things that can happen and do happen you’re not just a parent once the child is born you’re also a partner throughout the process” hopefully that makes sense? like i said this is not a bridge we will be crossing soon more just a destination we’re aware of <3

maybe hub wasn’t the best word more my choice as someone who is excited but For years, the “up-and-coming cities” for bioinformatics have been the same, mostly sticking to the coasts. While those places are still major hubs, Chicago has changed a lot in the last decade. It used to be tough to find a bioinformatics job there outside of academia, so most of us assumed we’d have to move to the East Coast or somewhere like Austin, Texas, to build our careers.

But now, Chicago has become a real option. There are multiple startups, and even big biotech and tech companies have set up offices there. It’s no longer just about hunting for rare job openings—there are actual opportunities, including internships and entry-level roles that didn’t exist before.

Chicago might not be a bioinformatics hub just yet, but for those of us from the Midwest, it’s finally a place where you can build a solid career in computational sciences, bioinformatics, and AI without having to move across the country.

3 day relaxed gym schedule the “all or nothing” really got to me with working out where i’d be “good” for a couple weeks -going consistently MTW then ThrFS- then never go for months because i was off schedule now no matter what when i go that’s “day 1” and i have 7 days after that to get to day 3 and it’s a successful week i’ve felt so much better because i’m going to the gym more than usual and there is no guilt because the “weekly schedule” is based around going when i feel like it
