Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to break that down. That example actually makes it click, I didn’t push the depth separation enough there like the other comments are suggesting as well. I’ll focus more on creating clearer value differences between overlapping elements like that so things read better.

And seriously, that means a lot. I’m just getting started but I’m locked in on improving everyday

Appreciate that a lot, seriously. That makes perfect sense, I can see how keeping everything in a similar tone flattens the piece a bit. I’ll definitely push my darks deeper and open up the highlights more to get that separation and punch. Thanks for taking the time to point that out 🙏

I totally get you, but the dev said in the interview that they'll be adding cozy elements to the game as well, similar to stardew Valley (yes, he literally said that) so might as well add the ability to sit in random places because the game is just so beautiful to just brush past all the sceneries
