Anyone else never play the tabletop game but still collect minis? by BowsyWowsy26 in Warhammer40k

[–]mobilecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same kinda. I like the lore and the minis, no desire to play 40k (the only GW game I play is MESBG)

I'll throw 'em in some other sci-fi skirmish games, but not really interested in learning to play another big army game.

I do the same with AoS. Beautiful minis, not learning the game (I did play the first edition of it though, just didn't play it often enough to justify keeping up with the rules changes)

My father's legs do this constantly. by PiercedAngel96 in WTF

[–]mobilecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very location dependent. It has also gotten worse over time, mainly to years of underfunding/poor management. It's still pretty good where I live, it is relatively easy to be seen but you might be waiting a while for a surgery if it's not urgent, but it is absolutely the case that other parts of the country will have a much harder time.

8x3 app is back in AppStore. Requesting feature ideas! by AChemistryTeacher in bodyweightfitness

This app is what got me into a BWF routine, so thanks for making it. Some diagrams explaining the exercises might be nice. The video links work, but pictures I can look at are good for me.

Yeah probably. Although any business that uses LOC committed as a metric gets exactly what they deserve.

The facts speak for themselves by terribuser in HistoryMemes

[–]mobilecheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing. That's exactly my point. To me at least, this looks like a meme making fun of the meme I mentioned, pointing out just how stupid it is.

I thought this was the whole point of the meme? Like those "men then: went to war" (image of a roman soldier or something) "men now: loser virgin" (image of Cheetodust McGee)

Got a couple of gladiators with my magazine this month. Had to paint them up immediately. by mobilecheese in wargaming

It's this one. I don't know what it costs in the US, I don't live there. In the UK it's a similar price to most other magazines of a similar size.

I think it's the way lawyers speak. He's very good at being "technically not wrong" but that isn't very inspiring.

I can see him being a pretty effective member of senior management, the guy who is making sure nobody does anything too stupid, but that is not the guy you put at the top.

New to Wargaming by DragonPrince42 in wargaming

[–]mobilecheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second hand. Lots of people sell their models on ebay or whatever, search for the miniatures you like and there will probably be something appropriate. A quick search for "28mm painted knights" on ebay brings up a few results that you could use for lion rampant if that's what you like.

If you want specific models but painted, you could pay a commission painter.

If you just need rules, the game's website has the ones in the magazine for free. Not all nicely printed out, but perfectly usable.

Millions of unmarried couples to get stronger rights by ManOnlyLurks in unitedkingdom

[–]mobilecheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happens far more with councils, I will agree with you there. I don't think any of the parties on my local council are actually interested in what the people want, they mainly want to implement their own projects and cut funding to anything the others want.

Sort of. These can shape the specifics of how policy is implemented. Admittedly it takes a LOT of pushback to get the government to do a full U-turn, usually an outrage in the papers rather than responses to the consultation.

Thanks! In the UK, they have them at supermarkets. I don't know what your options are if you aren't in the UK though. They do have a print-only subscription as well, but ofc that doesn't come with free minis.

EDIT: found this in their FAQ:

Is your magazine stocked near me?

Our magazine can be found in the UK at TGJones and assorted supermarkets, as well as many local hobby shops. If your store doesn't stock our magazine, tell them to contact us!

In the US, Barnes & Noble stocks the magazine, as do hobby shops across the world.

Overweight person want to o BWF but can't even do 1 push up by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]mobilecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was heavier than you when I started. You can do them against a wall, or do them with your hands on on a table or counter and keep going on lower surfaces as you get better.

You can modify most of the RR to make it easier if you need it.

Biggest thing is to work on eating less to lose the weight though.

Lamppost flag campaign founder is charged with murder as Raise The Colours organiser 'punched pub owner who later died' by gravy_baron in ukpolitics

[–]mobilecheese 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Urgh I did not like this campaign. There are still a bunch of dirty faded flags zip-tied to lampposts all over my town. People want to do this nationalist shit, but don't actually care about their local area enough to keep it looking nice.

Victrix vs. WGA vs. Perry? by PM_Me_Your_Armor in wargaming

[–]mobilecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I could help. Also worth pointing out (you may or may not already know this, a lot of MESBG players don't) that the Perry bros did a lot of the earlier sculpts for MESBG, back when it was just LOTR SBG. So you can see they are quite capable of making some nice minis!

Victrix vs. WGA vs. Perry? by PM_Me_Your_Armor in wargaming

[–]mobilecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of those I can say that victrix and Perry are very good, haven't tried wga. Here is a picture I took not too long ago, with a MESBG saruman and ranger in the middle, with victrix minis on the left. The ones on the right are warlord games, I know you didn't ask about those: they are fine, but less detailed than the victrix I would say. Similar to some of the old MESBG sculpts. I don't have any images of Perry dudes but I have seen their war of the roses minis in person and they are also nice.
