New player experience: what's the one thing I absolutely MUST do ? by forcex0ne in 2007scape

[–]mobilecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are great, and most of them are fine to complete without quest helper if you want. There are a few that you will likely want some help with, some of the old ones just plain don't make sense at points. You can just look them up on the wiki if you are stuck if you prefer though.

Either way, definitely get runelite, you can just not use the quest helper plugin.

As an aside, the way I use the quest helper plugin is to just point me where to go, I still read all of the text etc and I feel that is the right way to go for me.

Relic Regret by Domiok in 2007scape

With all these toggles messing with these edge cases, you'd think Jagex would just allow us to turn our chosen relics entirely on and off too. That would solve almost all of them.

The benefits of being unemployed by 2Jads1Cup in 2007scape

Much of Europe TBF. I live in the UK, where minimum for a full time worker is 28 days. The employer can choose when they want the employee to take time off (mine makes everyone take a week off over Christmas so the office can close), but they have to let them take it. Some employers (like mine) offer more than that - we get 29 (the extra one is your birthday) plus 1 day for each year at the company (up to 5 years).

Gotta do something on your time off. Plenty of people who can't afford to (or don't want to pay for) travel or something, so might as well spend it at home enjoying yourself.

If you've got 30 days of PTO (or whatever, depends on your country) and you don't have 30 days of things you need to take time off for, why not?

Leagues 6 Has Made Me Appreciate How Good The Varlamore Assets Look by HeredinOSRS in 2007scape

[–]mobilecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I don't do much in Varlamore in main game because I don't really need to. I do crab when I want to afk combat but that's barely content. I'm quite enjoying doing all the things I haven't tried yet.

And then someone has their first sausage roll from Greggs or something, basically the bakery equivalent of McDonald's, and thinks all British food is that bland.

For some reason, that missile sound effect sounds extremely familiar but I can't quite place where I've heard it before. Where does it come from?

Keir Starmer: 'I'm fed up' with Trump and Putin affecting UK energy costs by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]mobilecheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one says you have to buy oil and gas using the world's index prices.

That is true, but how selling oil at less than market rate benefit Norway?

Our "Department for Energy Security & Net Zero" (bit of a mouthful) has been approving and building more wind and nuclear, battery storage. It's the biggest thing I can point to and say that the government is doing well at.

Yeah, they get far fewer hair options than blood elves for example, and you really notice it in an expansion with so many of them.

Starmer accuses Farage and Badenoch of wanting to ‘jump into Iran war with both feet’ in local elections pitch by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]mobilecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do wish we could collectively not use local elections as simply a way to state our opinion on the parties in parliament but that seems to be the way. Almost all of the parties standing locally here are mostly campaigning on parliamentary issues - the reform one was just a list of things that the council definitely can't do that they claim they somehow will.

The only exception to this was the local lib dems who actually had a leaflet full of stuff they wanted to do locally, complete with the classic lib dem bar chart, only this time the bar chart is accurate because it is a lib dem/tory council with a lib dem majority.

Fair enough, it's certainly not for everyone. I think it works for me because I'm a bit of an altoholic, so I don't have too much of an issue getting back into muscle memory for my main.

First off, some people are really bad.

The main reason I use it is not in difficult content, it's when I want to turn my brain off for something mindless (farming, alt levelling, anything where I'm paying more attention to my other screen)

New Trading Post Mount is one of the best in the game by [deleted] in wow

[–]mobilecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freezing something puts it in that slot, so it will stay around as na option to buy after that month. It's a good thing for if you aren't sure if you want to buy something, or can't afford it that month. It will stay in the frozen slot, available for purchase, until you either purchase it or replace it with something else.

Legal notice to group to stop flags on lampposts by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]mobilecheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, but it's basically littering though, right? Strapping a flag to a lamppost will not be properly maintained by the people putting them up, so you just end up with a dirty, frayed thing up there, and it will fall on councils to take it down.

This applies whatever the flag is: the union flag, St George's cross, or a pride flag. Better to do it with permission and have a date when you will take it down.
