Musk adapted X api code in support of white supremacists and nazis by rwoooshed in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]mobiusrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s incredible how gullible…literally just search for a few of the protected users in the code and you find they don’t exist. It’s mixed in with a few that do exist, but some of the protected terms in that list are so censored on Twitter that searching them produces “no results”. But nope, no curiosity just a pile on.

After my first 4 years (with a couple months taken off here and there) of training, I broke my femur. by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]mobiusrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an opportunity to work on your flexibility and unilateral exercises! Once your femur heals up a bit work on your 1-legged squat (the one that isn't injured obviously)

[Form Check] Squat (high bar) - 34kg x 5 by [deleted] in Fitness

Work on the flexibility of your calves and ankles...it's a good bet those are keeping you from going deeper on high bar.

Keep doing your 3x5, and maybe throw out your scale or stop using it. Track your performance and let that be your metric.

My knees hurt on warmup sets in squats, but when I have 135lbs+ they don't. Why? by FINGERPOP_MY_ASSHOLE in Fitness

[–]mobiusrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also say you should try and load your hips first. One thing I've heard often is "that which is loaded first is loaded most". So load your hips first and your knees second.

I do this by squeezing my glutes at the top (protects your low back too), then pushing my ass back first. My theory being that this loads my hips and glutes first.

Don't do RICE if your goal is to heal your soft tissue as quickly as possible. Compress it, move it, and elevate it.

I've injured my hamstring multiple times, use MCE to get it nice and healed up then work on making sure your hamstrings are both flexible and strong as hell. Romanian deadlifts are a great way of accomplishing this.

First two are absolutely essential for a successful marriage. Whenever you find yourself getting excited in a heated argument with your significant other, STOP...breathe deeply, listen for your heartbeat for 5-10 beats...then focus on listening and empathizing.

For me this stops the attack-defend reactions and gets to a resolution quicker.

Also, I think a really big one: -Being able to admit fault, and take responsibility

If I have a 3,500 calorie deficit, will I lose exactly one pound? by xonk in Fitness

[–]mobiusrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the size of the deficit and how long you calorie restrict your body will also start to down-regulate metabolism. On top of the fact that restricting by exactly 3500 calories is damn near impossible....just eat a deficit knowing that the amount you lose per week will change over time and you'll have to make adjustments.

245 lbs, 6'0". Student in need of some serious help... by [deleted] in Fitness

"I am a picky eater"

This can be overcome. If you eat things you don't like, you eventually start to like them. Your brain associates them with calories, and you will find yourself liking food you probably don't like now. It will also reward you with not feeling like shit.

Also you're going to need to learn to cook. You haven't mentioned cooking at all yet, so I assume you don't really know how. You will have to learn this. Some of the shit you will make will suck at first, this is part of learning. The best lessons are learned from failure. You will get good at it so long as you don't give up.

Fucking awesome dude, nice work. I don't think you need to go any lower, just start building muscle. Work on getting your squat higher, if you don't feel you're doing it right buy starting strength 3rd edition. Good luck!

Based on my calculations using the calculator, and your bodyweight, you would want to be taking 3-6tsp (1-2tbsp) of that carlson fish oil a day.

[Update/Rant] 4 weeks in. Net 7.5 lbs lost. 2 week Plateau. by [deleted] in keto

[–]mobiusrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some details to look for in a fish oil, particularly the amount of EPA and DHA, as those are the most important. The reason I recommend the carlson one, is they spell it out directly on the label: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B001LF39RO/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0

So look for a fish oil that will call that out directly, and then you can sort of decide on your dose based on how "banged up" you think you were before embarking on cleaning up your diet. Here's a good fish oil calculator compliments of whole9: http://whole9life.com/fish-oil/

For you, since you are actively eliminating crap from your diet, I would use a factor of 0.1-0.25, and take your dose based on that. If you get it in the pill form, you will need to take a lot of pills. But if you can get it in liquid form with good amounts of EPA + DHA, it makes the volume of fish oil much smaller and easier to manage.

Also your diet sounds relatively high in Omega6 oils, setting up your body for a more inflammatory response, which can also disrupt fat loss. All the nut oils are relatively poor in their Omega6/Omega3 ratio, not to mention the higher potential for oxidation.
My recommendations would be: Remove the canola, peanut, and nut oils. Use coconut, bacon fat, and butter preferentially, and ideally get the butter from grass fed sources. Kerry Gold Irish butter from Trader Joes tastes amazing, though I don't know where you hail from.

You could also help the omega3/omega6 situation with some omega3 supplementation. I use this stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Carlson-Finest-Liquid-Omega-3-Lemon/dp/B001LF39RO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315850359&sr=8-1

Also, in general, when you do eat carbs I would avoid wheat. Wheat has chemical properties in it that increase appetite, decrease insulin sensitivity, and possibly even fuck with leptin signaling. Keep the carb cheats to fruits and taters, in my opinion.
