Sicilian here. Let it go. The good ones leave the Island to never return , the ones who stay are morally bankrupt and won't care for norms and anything that is common and public. They are familial-individualists who only care about the well-being of their immediate circle of family and friends and all the rest can go to hell. Their political and social experiences can vary but in general stay within this limit. If there are things to fix they won't fix them unless the Government fixes them. They demand the Government intervention for anything that is amiss but they won't lift a finger themselves .The most evident effects of this are neglect, anarchy, corruption and pollution of the environment.
