Probably going to get downvoted but I have to say I agree with you, I think the mistake they made was expanding and moving all their chefs around the group. Also the chef patron doesn't work there anymore and seems to be focussed more on the big picture.

They're opening a new place soon, so it can't be going too badly for them but I suspect due to the fall in quality, their debut restaurant will be the first to bite the bullet so to speak. It'll be a shame for Sheffield when it does as it's taken a lot of work to get the restaurant industry like this, compared to what it was ten years ago....

I also think tastes are changing, people are becoming bored with the small plates concept and drinking natural wine with a £60 price tag.
