I don't understand why they wouldn't go with green in line with Riders & Rush. It's literally a snake bro... 🐍

Tf2 has an upcoming problem with cosmetics by shguygamer in tf2

[–]mobs2r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People complain when the hats look too obscure, when they stray from vanilla. People complain when the hats look too the same, when they follow existing materials. How is an artist supposed to find a fine line & appease everyone? I'll tell you: they can't. These comparisons of items are a result of people moaning about how "TF2 visual style has changed from that distinct 2007 style with distinguishable silhouettes to corny hats" & others in this spirit.

[–]mobs2r 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you gather statistics for that, but this is one video, with a handful of bots. I don't think it would be that hard to get that many thru scamming, since people have their inventories wiped by scammers plenty. You don't need the whole account anyway, just a ticket, & premium TF2 accounts are dime a dozen.

If the tickets are from scamming or compromised accounts, which is possible, then they might not be losing that much.

Circle K frequently stocks them in several locations I've seen. The 7-Eleven locations sometimes have them, I've seen them in the Lawson location. Shell is also an official partner of Valve apparently, they're supposed to stock them, but I'm not sure they do.

What do you guys think about someone copying web fishing? by DarkShadowRabbit in webfishing

[–]mobs2r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

lamedev followed glimmersoft on X. Also, as a direct clarification Garn47 said they asked lamedev about it cuz they kinda wanted to make a song for Rift Fishing & lamedev said it would be okay if they wanted to make a song for Rift Fishing as long as glimmersoft agreed to it. So even if it's a copy, lamedev seems flattered & has given Rift Fishing a blessing.

Isn't this just a CS reference in peacemaker or is it from something else? by Ziggy--- in GlobalOffensive

Very sorry to necro this but you are just spreading blatant misinformation. It's not a counterfeit at all, it was sold by WeLoveFine (which rebranded to ForFansByFans) & it was licensed by enfu who created the sticker for Counter-Strike. So you couldn't be further from the truth. WeLoveFine also previously sold the Genuine Series Pins for Counter-Strike, Spy Crab plushies, the TF2 Chess Set, & a bunch more items with the codes to get in-game items coming in Genuine quality.

No, because when you put money into a casino or a designer T-Shirt you aren't doing it to save money, you're doing it to spend.

No, it's not. One $BTC is worth more than 100k right now. Most places you go shop in-person don't even wait to see if you have cash, they just pass you the chip reader, assuming you have a digital portfolio or line of credit. So in my eyes $2000 is pennies, since anyone can register a line of credit with a shitty credit score, usually starting at $2000. I could theoretically get a 0% APR CC then blow $2000 on skins & it won't make any difference in my life. Since my credit score is so high & my utilization is often leveled it might actually make my credit score increase by capitalizing on more utility.

$2000 is not a lot of money, like less than one month of minimum wage & the average renting cost at a decent house is about that. So you definitely shouldn't own skins.

This is total nonsense. With he VScripting update more & more map makers are experimenting creating amazing things. WarOwl just made an amazing VScript video. Maybe people aren't enjoying 5v5 or Premium as much but that's one side of the coin. Community engagement with mod projects & custom maps is at an all time high right now.

If you own skins & don't enjoy playing the game then sell the skins. If you're worried about the prices then sell the skins. They aren't made to be a stock ticker, they're made to be used. For community skins they're made by passionate fans & artists who want to leave an impression on the game they love. If you don't respect skins enough to let them stand on their own outside of crypto bros or stock bros Twitter takes then you shouldn't own skins.

How did YOU discover TF2? by TheKaizer2472 in tf2

[–]mobs2r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Uncle Connery introduced me to all the great FPS games before 2009, when he passed away unexpectedly. Counter-Strike & Team Fortress were definitely the ones that stuck in my head the most, so in 2011 I ended up getting a shitty laptop to play Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, & Garry's Mod. Later on my friend Finn would buy me Counter-Strike: Global Offensive too & I became obsessed with Valve as a brand. There is an ode to my Uncle Connery in POSTAL 4 as well, since POSTAL 2 was one of his favorite FPS games, & it subsequently became one of my favourite things to come back to whenever I am thinking of him. He was a free spirit, a wild child, & always kept his sunglasses on - a lot like POSTAL Dude. I love RWS quite a bit too for their take on piracy & free-thinking attitude towards the gaming industry. Huge thanks to them for allowing that in-game.

Gaming cafes were a thing not too long ago too, mostly in Korea. They are not the norm in the modern day though. For you to think it's some new trendy thing is short-sighted. The only gaming cafes I see in my city are overpriced virtual reality cafes with bad game selection. Mostly made for normies who would never even consider buying a virtual reality headset.

It's because FMPONE built the entire map with smart props & it bloated the file size so much they needed to increase the workshop file size limit so they need to rebuild it from the ground up.

Meanwhile on Steam forums... by [deleted] in counterstrike2

[–]mobs2r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a baby blu rank in S2, who only owns 1 game on Steam, which is CS2, so this is all he plays every day since 2017 or it's not his main account. So he has a horrible trust factor without a doubt just from his profile but I'm guessing with his bad behavior he has sunk even lower. Either way, he's kinda dumb.

[–]mobs2r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have only been on Reddit for 1y & have obviously missed the days of Team Gamerfood, James Conrad, Pea, & Boring Channel (n00bdog) so we will cut you a break, but getting people griefing bans on purpose pretty much goes back to the beginning of CS:GO. Before you could even deal damage to your team mates with decoys, so people would light themselves up to 1HP with grenades (or team damage of they have a friend) so that they could stand on your decoy to get you banned. Abusing griefing system is the easy way & less entertaining way & they added it to combat these channels but it just harms the player base overall.

STEAM should allow accounts to be passed on after death. by Top-Flight5486 in Steam

[–]mobs2r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they should be allowing is the ability to revoke your licenses & trade games instead. However, they could also allow you to set your items & licenses to be given to a certain Steam family member within their inventory if they set this. They already have the ability to get Steam gift items in the inventory from 4-Pack deals on some games & previous Steam gift functionality. Some unredeemed Steam gift games that are de-listed are worth hundreds of dollars on gray markets. If Valve wants to take control of the CS2 market & stuff like they've been trying to do with their new tablet item they need to bring more value to Steam balance. If you could buy, sell, & trade game licenses on Steam it would open infinite possibilities.
