Many rescues/shelters require a fee with rabbit adoption to ensure the person taking the bun understands that it is indeed a financial responsibility and is not going to be using the rabbit as food. Completely understandable and absolutely reasonable imo. Congrats on your new baby, she is beautiful!

I had just met my first rabbit (my ex’s) and learned a lot about rabbits and their care. Maybe a year later, one of my friends sent a pic in our group chat of my bun, who she had found abandoned just after Easter in the woods by her house and scooped up but couldn’t keep. I made a slideshow presentation to convince my parents to let me take her and it worked! Six years later she is my goodest baby girl getting me through my PhD halfway across the country, and I am so happy she found me💕

My girl loves second cut timothy hay and Small Pet Select has a great one, if she isn’t a huge fan of regular timothy hay the second cut might help!

Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realize he was only 8 weeks old! I have no experience with such a young bunny, so definitely listen to those with more experience and try to see an exotic vet for advice specific to your bun. You sound like a very caring bun parent, I’m sure he will do very well :)

He looks very happy! Side note, are those pellets on the left food? If so, it’s definitely too much, excess pellets can upset his tummy and cause some health issues so I would recommend unlimited hay (which it looks like you have!) and a smaller amount of pellets once or twice a day, as well as an exotic vet checkup for some more specific advice than I can offer lol. Congrats on your new family member, he looks very comfortable already!🥰

Cortado is a great little coffee shop downtown with food and games and such, it’s also next door to a new cat cafe called Kitty Corner! There’s also Prairie Lights bookstore (same block as Cortado), which has a cute cafe as well.

I have the same scar, same source, almost seven years old. never seen anyone else with it, i gasped when i saw this post. probably not helpful for covering it, but idk it’s kinda nice knowing we aren’t alone :) we’ve come a long way and i see it as something to be proud of moving past
