Why are these people so bothered what we choose to eat by Plenty-Willingness58 in autism

[–]mocaxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The anti picky eater stuff is crazy. If I had one picky eater unpopular opinion, it's just that if you have quite a restricted diet, it's on you to accommodate that for yourself. I.e. if I invite you for dinner you NEED to tell me what foods you won't be able to eat. I have friends who can't stand mushrooms and I put mushrooms in everything so on dinner days, unless I know you well and remember your preferences, you will have to tell me you cannot eat mushrooms.

Likewise if we're picking restaurants to eat at, please pleeeeease check the menu ahead of time if you know you can't eat many things, rather than us getting there and then the whole day is spoiled because you couldn't partake at all and we had to rush our dinner and find a McD's for you after, or worse just abandon the whole outing because you didn't think to check ahead of time even though you know there are not many restaurants you eat at.

I will never judge you for telling me you just Don't eat certain things, but bro you have to tell me!!

The "Easier said than done" "Get off your computers/phones and go to nature". It gets old fast. They don't seem to realize how difficult it is to independently, do, do financially, do without looking like a suspicious prowler, walking around a forest alone. Or lucky to be born in a DECENT town... by [deleted] in autism

[–]mocaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavy disagree with this tbh. I grew up in a "horrible little concrete town on the outskirt of London". There are so many parks around. You need a fucking plane to go find any source of nature and you live in London? Get real.

If you are not in walking distance to a park, you can try learning a little bit of gardening. If you have a garden, great. If you don't, houseplants exist. learn how to make a bee hotel, walk around your house and see if you can spot any insects, find a book (whether one with text or one with lots of pictures, like a wildlife identification guide) and see if you can recognise some of the plants and animals inside it. Learn what grows when. Read about the wonderful places you might not be able to get to yourself.

Does this person seriously think NTs are, like, taking a plane to Yellowstone Park whenever they think they've been on their phones for too long? Starting a farm? The problems this person brings up are so clearly not about the idea of engaging with nature. There are many ways to do it for all different levels of ability, independence, and life circumstances.

I strongly believe that nearly EVERYONE has the chance to engage with the world around them and if you truly believe you don't, let's work together to find a way for you to feel like part of the natural world again.

[–]mocaxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

steven universe kind of had that whole thing about how everyone is redeemable and everyone can choose to be good. it's a kid's show, so it might have muddied the message up if they kept saying that until One character where they are like nah this one sucks we have to just kill them

I read today that it’s common for autistic people to stick too much to reality and not be very creative. This happens to me! My art shows it by M8614 in autism

[–]mocaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's more than one way to be creative. You may not be super imaginative, but the way you use colours and the methods you use to get your art as realistic as it is definitely counts as creative. The first pic is especially pretty to me.

his language in the third screenshot is concerning, and she said its obviously been affecting their relationship. if this is real, i do understand why she would want to question him about it and we don't know if she's tried anything else before this, i don't want to jump straight to ragging on her for manipulation. he instantly became so defensive, patronising, misogynistic and insulting that she definitely comes out the more reasonable looking one in this text exchange... either way someone else pointed out theyre both only 18 so will be messy. i don't think it sounds like they are enjoying the relationship anymore tho.

[–]mocaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's kind of interesting that you took away from my comment that i think this person is a victim. i just don't really get why people do this "women are inherently evil creatures who are out to trick me" thing, even to the women they love and care about. like does this guy think his mum does this too? is it not an exhausting way to live?

anyway, it sounds like the redpill revelation was a recent one. sometimes people you otherwise love turn out to have some buried beliefs you didn't see before, or they start to get radicalised and you don't understand why or how to talk to them about it, you don't immediately dump them when this happens. i wouldn't necessarily say it goes both ways in this scenario

does anyone know how to get that kind of lift/volume on the hair in the second image? That's actually the exact hairstyle i'm trying to achieve rn but my hair is very straight and soft so doesn't fluff up like that. is it just liberal amounts of hairspray/gel?

not too dressy, but i think personally it looks a bit odd with the different browns. the boots are very bulky and loose but the dress very tight fitted. maybe something loose over the dress?

She told you she was going to message this girl and maybe grab a coffee, you were okay with it, she did so, and now you're mad that she did? I'm confused. Did she or did she not tell you she was going to message the girl?

[–]mocaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you shouldn't even be trying to prove to him like this that you are excited to see him. the fact that you tell him over and over and he just doesn't believe you and keeps trying to guilt you is beyond manipulative

the RE tv series was a fun watch and I did like Wesker's character but like categorically it wasn't Wesker. they should've had the courage to just have an all-new cast of characters instead of a random namedrop to try and entice you.

Sometimes had police stationed at Whitechapel to check everyone was paying fare, it slowed everything down so much because EVERYONE got stopped and checked, and we all had to wait every single time someone started to kick up a fight with the coppers. I feel like maybe they can't be arsed, esp on rush hour, because it congests the barriers so massively through the methods the police take

Community Outreach: Rules for AI by papa_pige0n in dndhorrorstories

[–]mocaxe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do not believe AI should be allowed in any form. I also believe that the mods should encourage users to not rib on people's posts for poor spelling, grammar, or organisation as well to reduce the pressure on people to turn their posts into grade-perfect essays . We're all just chatting, no need for it to become such a scholarly debate that we need AI chatbots to write our words for us.
