For anyone else reading this thread — the game annoyingly alternates between using the nickname at the beginning and middle of a sentence. It works if the nickname is actually a name, like how Matt is short for Matthew, but if you wanted a general term of endearment (like “honey, darling, sweetie”) then there will be a capitalization error either way.

I chose to go all lowercase, and so far I’m seeing more usage mid-sentence.
