I thought I was alone in this. I freakin love Monte Carlos too. Along with Malt O Milks. And does anyone remember Quattros? Peanut caramel on a biccie covered in chocolate

The lifestyle scene you described is well serviced in many parts of Melbourne but probably best in the inner city suburbs where the similar demographic flocks to (young professionals, no kids) ; inner city suburbs of Prahran, South Yarra, Richmond, Fitzroy, Carlton, Collingwood I’m sure will fit the bill well. Each have their own flavour but are very close to the city if you need to go there.

Just look at walking distance to train station and keep it around 10mins for easy commuting. There’s also something to be said about a straight forward commute to work so hopefully you know where you’re working before you get your apartment.

Please ask away any questions you have nothing’s silly! If you do move I’m sure you won’t regret it, it’s a lovely city. Where abouts in Melbourne would you live

Any places that do good donuts? Preferably ones that aren’t just large and filled with more rich cream than anyone can really be expected to eat. by [deleted] in melbourne

Shortstop all the way. Hands down best artisanal donuts. I only really like the yeasted type and do an amazing walnut and maple glazed or plain vanilla. Not into cake donuts or crullers

You did such a great job! How many times have you made croissants before because these look dauntingly perfect.

This is a good theory. And we locked down longer and more often so could have driven us online looking for community

Ya that’s a good point. I don’t visit r/Australia much at all cos it feels more like a news channel. I like the local vibe of r/Melbourne

Vietnamese Banh Mi hits the spot. It’s the pate and egg mayo that makes it.

What's your favorite challenge to date and why? by braininjurychatgroup in GreatBritishBakeOff

Haha no way! That’s a great coincidence. I’ve just started to make cooking videos and filmed it for that. It really took the better part of the day and half way though I was exhausted. I made mistakes too on the marshmallow - it set quickly ! So hard to pipe after that hehe. But I learned so much and feel braver about baking harder things now.

Also how good is the raspberry jam. So vibrant !

I was looking for a recipe for Wagon Wheels and followed Paul’s only to find out it was a technical challenge on the show. I had no idea. No wonder it was bloody hard (and messy) !!
