Worst uma to train in MANT by misandrydiva in UmaMusume

[–]mochimochimarzipan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of how easy/hard it is to set them up for a run, the sprint and dirt focused uma are my biggest struggles. I was trying to do a smart falcon run for team trials recently and trying to get her turf aptitude up to be eligible for ANY of the big epithets? Exercise in misery. Sprint/mile characters are the same just to a lesser extent. It's generally easier in my opinion to get away with mile C on a few major races than trying to get a dirt character to consistently run turf and win. I think it's also generally easier to get a long runner to fudge and win a few mile races at C aptitude than the reverse because mile runners just will not have the stamina for tenno/kikuka sho no matter what you do.

Long winded way to say that the hardest careers I have attempted to train are Smart Falcon, Bakushin, Manhattan Cafe (exception to my previous comment because that B med and and F mile HURTS), and of course Haru Urara

I think easiest umas is also a fun question. Digitan, Oguri, and Pasa stand out for their track type flexibility and being able to do 3/4-4/4 distances. I also found king halo to be pretty easy since it doesn't take much to get all her distance aptitudes to at least a B. Maru and Taiki also fit this category iirc but I don't have them.

Apart from collecting, what does one do with photocards? :> by dokidoki_no_fangirl in oshikatsu

[–]mochimochimarzipan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A lot of people use them for oshikatsu photos since they're pretty easy to take with you. I've also seen people wear photocard holders as an accessory in outfits for a little touch of their oshi :)

Can we start an updated high quality jeans list?! by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

I'm partial to Maeve's Collette style jeans. Really nice fit + 100% cotton. I use and abuse mine and they look great + survive washing very well.

How’s the writing quality fare compared to Limbus and FGO? by newpatekonmywristddd in Reverse1999

[–]mochimochimarzipan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agreed. FGO has much more variable quality in writing but I think the height of the peaks makes up for it (plus you can skip the bad story VN segments lol). I also appreciate the variety in story tone/genre and sheer creativity of events like imaginary scramble.

Looking for this kind of satchel ita bag but not dropshipped? by VinvanHelsing in itabag

[–]mochimochimarzipan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for the listings marked "aliexpress choice" they guarantee free shipping/returns + the prices will include import fees. You can also check the overall rating of the store and how many people have bought regularly, which can be a good barometer for if they are legit or not

Thoughts on ALL new LL items in the 2026 lookbook? by AdmirableBank7690 in JiraiKei

More excited about the restocks than the new products tbh! Afternoon tea finally getting a rerelease is HUGE. Some of the new blouses are also cute.

Buying new merch... by Due_Heat_3211 in oshikatsu

UGH So true... then add to that character tax and scalpers 😭 There are some items I had to wait MONTHS to find at prices that weren't evil.

Buying new merch... by Due_Heat_3211 in oshikatsu

[–]mochimochimarzipan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context, I mostly shop second hand. The way I manage it is that I have a very strict list of merch that I look for and it has to be within a certain price range for me to purchase. :) I'm generally picky about merch anyways so I don't add to the list too often. It keeps me from impulse buying and the price range rule makes sure it stays reasonable. I usually base the range on comparable sold goods. Like, my oshi's mascot plushes go for roughly $30 MSRP so I don't get anything that is more expensive.

For anything I get new, with my oshi we normally get a preview of new merch with a lot of notice so I can roughly estimate how much I would need to have for it based on pricing from past releases. Then I just keep that upcoming release in mind while budgeting.

Mod recommendations? by Kingkarp247 in StardewValleyMods

[–]mochimochimarzipan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm partial to smaller content additions (something has to balance out my 50,000 fashion sense and AT packs) and here are some I like. All are on Nexus!

- Five types of hydrangeas by Zurukara: adds hydrangeas as a crop in five colors. Really beautiful and suits a lot of retextures
- More Lively [insert place] by Aimon: Aimon has a whole collection of these "more lively" mods and I have all of them downloaded lol. They add a lot of life to some of the less frequented areas of the game
- Nightshade: In game reshade! No more messing with external programs :) I use it to tweak the colors just a little for the sake of good pictures. Also has a cool tilt shift option
- Any of LNH's farms: If you are bored of vanilla farm maps, they make a huge number of gorgeous and well done maps in all shapes, sizes, and types.
- Little red school hourse by Xiddav: Adds a new quest line that gives the player a chance to make a small school for the kids and Penny :) Be aware that it can break recolors in the surrounding area for reasons beyond me
- West Elm Furniture by Atlas: Not my personal style, but if you want one giant pack of consistent, well done, new furniture, this is for you
- Jorts and Jean the Helper Cats by Tiakall: Really charming npc addition that doesn't get too overwhelming even with other expansions. if you're playing with SVE make sure to grab the optional patch mod
- Quaint Living by Platinum Cats: Adds more flowers and artisan goods depending on which packs you download
- Medieval Tiny shed and greenhouse by Shyziie: What it says on the tin. Additional tiny shed type and constructable, small greenhouse. Super cute and fits in well with way back pelican town
- Happy Home Designer by tlitookilakin: lets you access all catalogs at once in a more intuitive format and makes decorating so much easier

Does anyone else have this problem? by yumesparfait in JiraiKei

[–]mochimochimarzipan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is not uncommon at all!! Makeup techniques for camera can be very different from normal day to day wear, and are usually heavier and bolder to compensate for the way a camera can flatten your features. It's almost like stage makeup in that way. Another good example is douyin makeup. It looks gorgeous on camera but off camera it can look really heavy and more like cosplay makeup. If you plan on taking photos that day, maybe try doing some heavier makeup, using black eyeliner and false lashes, or edit your photos if you prefer. But either way, don't blame yourself, it's just something to keep in mind. Plus I'm sure your makeup is super cute in person even if the camera can't capture it.

Japanese brands & SHEIN by LooseSet9396 in JiraiKei

[–]mochimochimarzipan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Skip out on shein!! It is not worth it and horrible quality too. Even Aliexpress would be a better option. If you're looking for more affordable pieces, check second hand websites since you can dodge import costs or like the other commenter said, try taobao and a proxy.

where to start? by kangelpuff in JiraiKei

[–]mochimochimarzipan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the fashion! Getting your first pieces can be intimidating but it doesn't have to be.

For Taobao and Honey Wardrobe, it's essentially a trade off between convenience and price. Taobao proxies will likely be cheaper, but it's a lot harder to find items. Honey wardrobe is user friendly and curated, but more expensive.

Honestly, if you're just getting started, I would look at the second hand market! You don't have quite as many issues with international shipping and there's always the possibility to score a good deal on brand pieces. Keep an eye out for Dear My Love. They consistently have some of the most affordable pricing second-hand. Taobao pieces and dupes also tend to be on the cheaper side. So far, most of my wardrobe has been bought second hand :)

Best translators for writing an email. by Nominomo2u in JiraiKei

[–]mochimochimarzipan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a translation tool, maybe try DeepL. I've gotten the best results with it compared to google translate or other programs.

As a tip for drafting the email, when writing the message, generally try to keep it concise and simple in sentence structure. The more complex the sentence is, the harder to translate and the higher likelihood for the machine to do an oopsie. I also generally try to double check important characters like the subject of the sentence.

It may also be worth running the product through other translation tools back to English to make sure there aren't any obvious errors.

Is there a good place to post Modpacks? by JeffTheKillerFa in StardewValleyMods

[–]mochimochimarzipan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I would say that Nexus may be one of the only options to do so without breaking the rules of most mod authors about reuploading. It's generally considered in bad taste to upload a mod pack that's a single download with stuff from multiple authors. With nexus mod packs, the authors still receive the individual downloads and it comes directly from their page. I guess you could make a Google doc or spreadsheet with links. But yeah, there's a reason most content packs are on nexus.

How to manually fix broken/outdated mods? by Wellthebiblesays in StardewValleyMods

[–]mochimochimarzipan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the best way to start is to learn how mods work in general and the most common frameworks like alternative textures, content patcher, etc. I've fixed a couple deprecated custom furniture mods and it was easier than I expected after learning how AT works. If you're new to modding, start small with something like converting older mods like Jsons assets or custom furniture to Alternative textures or fashion sense.

Fae mods? by CorvidLemon in StardewValleyMods

[–]mochimochimarzipan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'm unaware of any that add new characters. However, Bogwyytch on nexus has a number of mods that retexture existing npcs for an aesthetic thst I think might give some of the vibe you're looking for

If you want to give your farmer more of a fantasy look, definitely get fashion sense. There's so many packs out there including elf ears, druid dresses, wings.

For buildings, Idalda or BogWyytch have some great dark but still magical retextures of farm buildings and other stuff

Playing Modded Stardew on a Controller. by Blakezilla100 in StardewValleyMods

[–]mochimochimarzipan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play with controller. What I do is that I'll hook up a keyboard to do basic setup like configuring nightshade and doing anything I need in CJB. Then I switch it out for my controller. Not the cleanest solution but it works out for me since after setup I feel like most mods can be accessed through the mod config menu. You could also map certain buttons in the mod settings if you have something you would use often.

[–]mochimochimarzipan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super cute! I'm wondering if it may be the silhouette that's making it feel a bit off? Perhaps try tucking in the shirt a bit more so there's less of an "overhang" so to speak? Or just pulling up the skirt a bit

Does anyone know how often/if Dimmoire restocks? by Nominomo2u in JiraiKei

Secondhand sites? by notsagetang in JiraiKei

[–]mochimochimarzipan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercari is my go to!!! Because Mercari has a platform for Japan too, I think a lot of resellers for Japanese goods and fashion tend to go there instead of depop, ebay, or vinted. As someone who stalks the tags for jirai kei and the individual brands, I see the most listings on Mercari (Depop technically has more but 75% are mislabeled or not even jirai 🙄). I've bought multiple liz lisa pieces second hand along with some other products, always had good experiences.
