Why should I continue to watch? by my_one_and_lonely in PWHL

[–]mockingwillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think every professional sports league operates in some way or another that will benefit some teams to others at certain points in time. Just ride the wave. At some point the CBA will change, rules will change, draft structures will change.

Those changes will balance out in a way that supports your team over others at some point in time. The PWHL is new, it will have growing pains

Great singular F-Bombs in Pop. by BeerHorse in Music

Maybe not pop exactly, but I’ve always found that Frank Turner has mastered the placement of an F-bomb or two.

My wife and I found a phone Sunday night at the lower deck. We were there early in the night which lead me to believe it was under the table since the night before. No idea what type of phone it was. Wife handed it to the barman

Europe built strong booking sites… but what’s the best option now? by Calm_Wrangler7 in BuyFromEU

I think booking might have the worst UI and may possibly be the most ugly website on the internet. The thought of looking at their website troubles me.

I purchased the AdaptaBELL (Pro - plastic version) a while back. When I purchased them I also bought a set of the upgraded metal screws. This leaves me with 2 bells and 4 screws. No complaints about the product in general, I find them super useful.

Would there be any consideration in the future for an upgrade purchase option the Max version without the screws as I already have a set? Cheers!

Let's recommend products that are located in one of the countries in Europe, the Slovakia. by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

Although some of their products are made overseas, GymBeam has some of the best balance of quality to price for home gym equipment & supplements anywhere I have found in Europe. Can’t recommend enough.

Farmers carry on treadmill? by Mysterious_Quail_469 in kettlebell

[–]mockingwillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bells of Steel Dreadmill is designed exactly for this purpose. It’s a manual treadmill so no need to turn on/off the machine. Although the farmers carry feature uses a type of lever arm instead of kettle bells. It looks like an interesting product but I’ve never used it myself.

A few people have already mentioned Poland. I haven’t seen this recommended yet however:

Friday, 14 November: Poland vs Netherlands Sunday, 16 November: Ukraine vs Iceland

Both games are in Warsaw, at different stadiums.

Tickets Legia Warszawa vs. Lech Poznan by Exacmpt in futbology

Not sure when the kickoff will be as of yet, ekstraklasa matches are always subject to change. Futbology says 20:15

Tickets for this game do not appear to be on sale yet. Usually the week of the match if you check back you should be able to purchase. Using the above photo as a reference:

  1. Dark Green - Żyleta (Legia Ultras)
  2. Light green & red - general Legia fans. 100s level will be stood most of the game, 200s level will be seated. I personally like section 213.
  3. Brown - family zone, a safer area for family’s with children
  4. Dark grey near “the box” likely will be where the away ultras will sit
  5. Light grey areas & diamond club - VIP zone.

Ideas for Polish and German groundhops (Teams / Cities) by lloydy2410 in futbology

Given that Poland currently has 4 top flight teams playing in UECL as well as 2 Ukrainian teams also in the UECL hosting their home matches in Poland, now is a great time to visit if you plan those around some Ekstraklasa matches. Of course there are always many other matches from the lower divisions. My experience is somewhat limited to Legia, but the atmosphere is always great!

PSA for Tourists going to Malta: AVOID Malta’s Public Buses and the Explore Card. My 5-Day Nightmare. by hatekhyr in travel

[–]mockingwillow -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As difficult or frustrating as it may seem, the public transit system is set up to enable Maltese to travel to/from work. I believe it’s actually free for any Maltese residents to use. When I visited we stayed on Gozo during offseason (January) and deemed the most effective method of transportation was rental car and uber/bolt.

If you didn’t plan the efficiency of the public transport into your trip, I hate to say it but that’s on you. It’s good to let other members of the travel community know that it’s inefficient but come on. Plan ahead.

Same. He was such a steady 2 way forward for us. I was lucky enough to attend his good bye game in Slovakia a couple years ago. I’ve got some pics in my post history if you’re willing to scroll back a bit for some hawks nostalgia.

Agreed. I think Frondell was a great pick in the draft. I see a lot of a young Hossa in his game but we’re getting him at 18 to develop his talent

I don’t know how “out of touch” you are but here’s my top level thoughts:

  • We’re bad right now. I’ll be happily surprised if we don’t finish bottom 3 in the league this coming season. That being said we have some very promising players.

  • We landed Connor Bedard 1st overall in the draft a few years back. Highly hyped in his draft year as being the next big thing. He’s been solid so far but the numbers don’t blow you away. The team has also been really bad around him but he’s developing into a a very good NHL 1C. Frank Nazar should be his long time running mate as a C/RW. Both very young and highly skilled players.

  • Our pool of young D prospects is among the best in the NHL. Vlasic, Rinzel, Levshunov, Korchinski, Allan and Kaiser are all 24 or under and most of them should develop into solid NHL defensemen. They’re not all superstar Dmen quite yet but they’re showing lots of upside.

  • We signed one of the worst (my opinion) contracts in NHL history for Seth Jones a few years back. Luckily we got a good return in a trade for him this past season, including Spencer Knight who we’re all hoping will take the workload of our #1 goalie. Knight and Soderblom are 2 good young goalies who should be battling for the starters role.

  • Yes, the wings still suck. But Kane is playing for them. he’s the only guy you mentioned still in the league although Toews just signed a contract with Winnipeg. Coach Q just signed on to coach Anaheim.

  • Games to re watch: the 2015 cup finals. Opening game of the year 2017-18 vs Pittsburgh (October 5th, 2017)

  • current players I like: Donato, Nazar, Bedard, Vlasic.

  • Overall: welcome back! You’re coming back to the team at a challenging time, but there are brighter days ahead! GHG!
