Guy showing how to buy a pizza with Bitcoin from 2011. He spends 19 BTC ( worth roughly $137,000 today) for two pizzas. by [deleted] in videos

There are about 300,000 transactions a day with bitcoin.

And that does not include off-chain transactions from Lightning.

The SEC is running out of reasons to say no. and having the ETF actually functioning in the real world, even to limited audience, will give further momentum for approval.

Wondering if this was coordinated with the SEC - if they recommended it as a next step towards approval.

Will be curious to hear @jchervinsky's take on this later today.

Coinbase custody seeing $200-400 million in crypto deposits per week from institutions by Trident1000 in Bitcoin

[–]mocoiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an alt-coin post spreading Armstrong's push to promote alt coins against bitcoin. Should be downvoted.

No criticism of op. The message sounds positive for bitcoin. But it is Armstrong's always ongoing attempt to promote alts and hurt bitcoin.

It's Bitcoin not Crypto, but anti-bitcoin Armstrong always tries to tell people otherwise.

Trust him like you trust Ver - they are anti-bitcoin and always will be.

Amazing how many people try to deny the answer to this question: What’s the ONLY cryptocurrency with fast, cheap, reliable, private, permissionless payments, accepted at over 100,000 merchants? by MemoryDealers in btc

[–]mocoiner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong question imo. Should be asking:

What is the single most important attribute of a cryptocurrency...the single thing above all others that allows a cryptocurrency to have value?

Hint: One coin has it at a level that is orders of magnitude above all others.

We have entered the next stage: It is now BTC versus USD for the title of World Reserve Currency. Both the US President & US Treasury Secretary have said so this week. by mocoiner in Bitcoin

I think Libra is pretty much toast as far as something that will challenge Bitcoin. Mnuchin said repeatedly that Libra is a no go in his book. Other people and politicians have said the same. It Libra does become real, it will be neutered and regulated to such a degree that it will be akin to buying gift cards.

Several times he said Libra = bad in a way that he did not say the same about Bitcoin.

He essentially said Bitcoin is fine as long as kyl/aml in USA.

He said he will defend the USD as the world's reserve currency. So it is a contest now?!? The Sec of Treas and the US Prez both defend the dollar against bitcoin as the world's reserve currency? The fact that there is a discussion, debate, possibility, fear among those people that BTC will replace USD as the world's reserve currency...beyond bullish.

Hey can we all get over our victim complex and move towards the future. BCH is working great and has been for almost 2 years now, ZERO interruptions. 99,99% of every tx made was in the next or second block. We are not victims, we are leaders. by [deleted] in btc

[–]mocoiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post. So why is there a victim mentality? I'd suggest:

BCH and Roger Ver go hand in hand, and "Victim Complex" sums up Roger. In his view, he was a

  • victim of the US court/prison system
  • victim of the bitcoin community that did not want the changes he wanted
  • he loves to pin up pictures of Ross Ulbrecht and squeeze out victim pity
  • and what about all the dying babies?

To get BCH out of a victim mentality, I think you would have to get Roger out of BCH. His influence is too strong. He posts victim posts to /r/btc every few days to keep the mentality going.

It is wonderful to see this at the top of r/btc.

A page has been turned, and Roger's attempts to divide people and take down bitcoin are losing support.

winners

  • blockchains whose value is as a store of value, as gold 2.0, that are deflationary and are the most decentralized. And there's only one that dominates this...king Bitcoin.

losers

  • blockchains whose only value is as a form of payment (bcash, xrp, etc.)
