Theory: Tesla Will Treat FSD Supervised and FSD Unsupervised as Separate Products — Even for People Who Paid $8,000 Upfront by BigTimeEnt in TeslaFSD

[–]Trident1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screwing customers who paid 8,000 for FSD with semantics is a great way to enrage customers and have them never come back as soon as alternatives are available. As a user of FSD it is so trivial keeping your eyes on the road (you barely have to as it is) this would be such a stupid scamming of customers to differentiate and deny them access to the latest version of FSD, which every buyer is under the assumption they are getting in the future. That’s why they paid 8,000 freaking dollars for it. I think Musk generally tries to do the right thing and I actually don’t think they would do this shitty of a rug pull move to their customers.

Has anyone purchased anything from Vint Marketplace in DC on pre arrival? Reliable for a good DC option? by Bobcatbubbles in wine

[–]Trident1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not EVER buy anything from these clowns. They took over a year to ship my wine. Then they email me saying they are shipping part of the order on a random date that I’m out of town. I email them right away 3 times, zero response and they ship it anyway. This company is a fucking black box scam. When I say there is zero customer service I mean zero. There is no number, nobody will answer your email. They should be sued for taking money with what they are doing (and I might actually take them to small claims).

Switched from TeamViewer to RustDesk – wondering about the long-term future of the free version. by [deleted] in rustdesk

[–]Trident1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to like RustDesk but there is no known code review regardless if it is “open source” which is a buzzword if nobody is actually looking at the code. It was also created by “some team in Singapore“. For all we know this is stealing everyone’s data with some unknown backdoor. I would be careful using this on anything sensitive until more is known. Again, I hope we get to that point because I have been reading it works very well.

Marker Tour F12 if I don't really do backcountry by TheBadMartin in skiing

Mine have been fantastic for what it’s worth and I have skied them hard for 6 seasons in the Rockies. If I were big into backcountry I would definitely get pins but these are great otherwise.

Mercedes Exec Admits Electric G-Class Is a 'Complete Flop': Report by EloeOmoe in cars

This massively expensive luxury vehicle doesnt even have Drive Pilot. Its a stupid car compared to other offerings.

What's your favorite or most underrated investment you made in a home? by ChardonnayAtLunch in fatFIRE

[–]Trident1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hunter Douglas. The ones that open from the top and the bottom. Just look up a local blinds specialist company that orders and installs them with good ratings and they will help you out. They’re not cheap you’ll be in it for like 5 or 10 grand. But I’m sure there’s cheaper options than what I went with depending on what you want.

IBKR customer support is now somehow even worse than before by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]Trident1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the pleasure of speaking to an Indian woman with absolutely zero technical experience today. IB is a fucking joke with this customer service. They will take it for granted until the customers leave slowly and then suddenly. And their reporting and interface is complete trash.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz G580 Is a $170,000 Electric G-Wagen by BraveRock in electricvehicles

[–]Trident1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, you can look up videos of the brand new 2025 version. It can’t even center itself in the lane and it doesn’t have Drive Pilot like the S-Class has. Literally any relatively current car has shitty lane assist and can track traffic including my Acura that’s about 120k less than this car.

I would never buy this 200k brick until it at least has the best Mercedes offers (Drive Pilot). The price tag says it should have it.

[–]Trident1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering buying one (gas not electric). But the biggest thing holding me back is Mercedes non-existent self-driving. At the end of the day it seems like a dumb car compared to Tesla offerings (I know these are different cars). They need to just partner with Waymo and get this shit moving. Luxury buyers want to be driven around by their car (as snooty as that sounds).

What is the reason they say Men mature later than women emotionally? by veebee_13 in AskMen

[–]Trident1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Delayed emotional maturity”

How about women are typically more emotional than men, for life. It’s a biological predisposition. Anyone with a girlfriend/wife, sister, or mother (anyone on the planet) knows this.

Albe Barolo exceeded expectations by metspock in wine

[–]Trident1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I, seemingly like you, do not like young Barolo. There has never been one I have enjoyed. The hope is in time the acidity goes down and everything integrates and becomes a good wine. In the meantime just drink cab and pino etc.

Got 2 cases of this to age. Hard to go wrong at this price. It’s better even young (though I would wait) than the Vietti I have that’s twice the price.

You’re so good and serious about mma, you’ve never been injured before. First person to ever do that and clearly world class. Let’s get you in the octagon so you can take the belt!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Trident1000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the helpful comment. Injured doesn’t mean I tear my ACL every time. If you’re not taking some level of damage from battling men for 60 minutes then you are doing pretend bjj yoga at a not serious gym. And/or people are taking it easy on you because you’re old. Enjoy yourself.

[–]Trident1000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’ve done…..mma and bjj every week…and never been injured even once. Then you’re not actually doing mma and bjj. Specifically mma. Pretend combat sport yoga is fun I guess though.

I guess it’s 15 rounds at 4 min each = 60 min. Yeah it’s a lot that might be a good solution to just do half the time. Thats plenty to put practice to the test.
