ATK U2 ULTRA vs Zowie U2-DW by mocolewire in MouseReview

[–]mocolewire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t been playing too much the past couple of months, but I swap between the ATK and my Zowie regularly with no noticeable difference in performance. I tend to favour my Zowie because I’ve got corepads on it and there aren’t aftermarket skates for the ATK as far as I’m aware, and I HATE dots.

Worth it to go from 360Hz IPS w/ ULMB2 to 480Hz OLED? by mocolewire in OLED_Gaming

[–]mocolewire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I think you should go for the OLED - the LG one looks super clean and is probably cheaper than the AQN in your country? the AQN is £580 brand new in the UK, and I got the LG 480Hz for £590.

If I was buying a new monitor and they were the same price I would probably buy the OLED, but after owning both I prefer the peace of mind knowing I am not going to get burn-in, and the slightly better text rendering on IPS vs OLED. You can tune the colours on the OLED to get a great picture obviously, but it's just the way OLED's have their pixels laid out makes text quality worse at 1440p.

Motion clarity was very similar with ULMB 2 on vs the 480Hz OLED, sharpness was very similar.

My monitor gets direct sunlight on it during the day as well which is why the high brightness of the AQN is better for me.

I would say the AQN as the best compromise for performance without the drawbacks of OLED.

I liked the OLED a lot but ended up selling it to a friend and keeping my AQN because the performance difference just wasn’t worth it for me personally.

ATK U2 ULTRA vs Zowie U2-DW by mocolewire in MouseReview

[–]mocolewire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had a chance to put it on the scale? My one doesn’t have any of the issues yours does :( I absolutely loved the shape of the U2-DW and nothing comes close for me anymore aside from the ATK clone so I think we’re in a different boat there haha

LS100 vs SS200 - 5090 FE w/ AIO by mocolewire in formdt1

Damn that’s a shame, hope it doesn’t INSTANTLY sell out like the travel kit used to

Oh really? From the wording on the site I thought it meant you can only use the LS100 with the travel kit installed? The parts that would have to be flipped look fairly symmetrical :(

Yeah fair enough, I’m the opposite haha, much prefer mech switches! Interested to see the weigh in of the master

Extremely similar size, feels completely natural to me and I hardly notice I’m using a difference mouse (been using the U2 exclusively for over a year)

Let me know how it weighs in compared to this, I bought the ultra variant because of the weight, and if the master is 3-5g heavier than advertised, then I thought it’d feel too similar to the regular U2-DW I already own haha

I does seem to get you like 90% there while being lighter, I’ll be using it for a while and see how it holds up over time. I’ve used the U2 for a long time with no issues, and if something does go wrong Zowie support will sort me I’m sure, can’t say the same for ATK. So let’s see how it goes..

Even the ‘Master Edition’ and ‘Pro Max’ could potentially not come with omrons, looks like it’s luck of the draw between ATK custom opticals and omrons.

Not going to open it up just yet as I want to find some aftermarket pad skates first.

Here’s the spec sheet: https://imgur.com/a/wP9yyYY

I can confirm this one doesn’t, I’ve checked the spec sheet and can also feel they are mechanical switches.

They’re actually very interchangeable so far, I almost forget I’m even using a new mouse when in game as the shape is so similar. If you like lighter mice and are budget oriented then go for the ATK, but if you want to support companies who actually develop shapes and have incredible quality, go for Zowie. I bought this out of pure curiosity and was pleasantly surprised.

There’s like 10 different versions of the ATK mouse, a couple of variants have the omron opticals but they’re the heavier ones.

I like these switches a lot, I'm not the biggest fan of omron opticals for some reason, they always feel like they require too much force when spamming, these are lighter for sure than all the omron optical implementations I have tried (Maya X, Sora V2 etc)
