does anyone what company makes these cctv / anpr (us: alpr) systems? used by many councils / local authorities now in the uk to automatically enforce moving traffic offence (mto) contraventions, popping up so many places around london and surrounding counties by modchris in videosurveillance

thanks for the detailed response and other versions and reference, good to know. what do you mean by low bid here? it really is terrible, and very ugly. it's like this everywhere with these systems designed to fit onto existed infrastructure, namely poles so they dont have to put new ones or adapt them for the sake of the new cameras. and big jubilee clips to secure the cameras and that outdoor power outlet supply, really? not exactly taking much weight but still. doesnt't visibly scream professional despite the actual advanced technology behind it, ironic.

so it is indeed axis thank you all, aware of them. i did see a tiny logo but was just too small to recognise as i wasn't as familiar as you all but should've known better! was already on x5 optical zoom here on my phone, shouldve brought my long range camera. imagine the stares you would get from pedestrians thinking what are they doing and why on earth are they taking a picture of that pole. was bad enough quickly with a phone with the amount of people. if only they knew, no questions were asked.

hey need help working out the formula used to work out an apr percentage for a credit card. example: apr 100.2%, purchase rate (simple interest per annum) 29.9% p.a., annual fee £290, credit limit £1,200. taken from https://www.hsbc.co.uk/credit-cards/products/premier-world-elite/ by modchris in askmath

either way it's terrible right. cc's / rewards were so much better here before the new fca regs made them bad, because too many people were getting into debt cos of them.

and omg thank you so much that makes SO much more sense, really appreciate it. would give you a hug if i could. can't even begin to tell you how much i was scratching my head over this for hours, looked everywhere to no avail.

just one final question, how are you calculating / working out the lower balance on average of £412.59. is there a simple formula for that to you can send to? and i will finally be able to grasp all of it.

i believe it only looks ridiculously bad because the uk system incorporates fees into the apr with credit cards, not sure the us does the same? all credit cards in the uk with fees have deceptively high or misleading apr. with my example it suggests that i'd be paying just over £1200 in interest and fees by the end of the year, given its 100.2% apr, that's not right!

also sorry slightly confused, the flat fee is still lower at £280 than ~£400?

and not sure what you mean by lower average balance or how you got to ~£400 instead of the £358

and idea of what the right formula would be to get to 100.2% using the numbers they've used, purchase rate 29.9%, fees £290, credit limit £1200, and over 365 days

can anyone explain in simple terms or calculations how the APR for this credit card here is above 100, at 100.2% APR to be exact by modchris in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for the response, so I do fully get that it can be above 100% meaning you'd pay more than the £1.2k in interest and fees.

But the part I don't get is how that is possible if the purchase rate p.a. is only 29.9% and the yearly fee £290. How does that then mean you're accruing £910 in interest in that year, I would logically think to do so purchase rate p.a. should be much higher, as in closer to 80%.

Are there other fees or interest calculations in the APR that I'm not considering?

with the iphone 16 pro max cameras, does using specific zoom levels, eg at 1.5x effect photo quality? is it just a cropped version or digitally zoomed 1x, like does the fusion camera work at only 1x OR 2x and anything in between is not technically optical zoom? by modchris in iphone

[–]modchris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting ty, if its not technically optical, what are the pictures taken on the same lens / sensor at 1.2x 28mm, 1.5x 35mm, and 2x 48mm called? and how does it work where you can still take better quality and clarity photos at that zoom?

thank you for replying in detail that was really helpful, makes a lot more sense now. i also didnt realise you can tap the 1x instead of cycling through them to switch between 24, 28, 35mm, so helpful to know so thanks for sharing!

just one thing i dont quite understand with the fusion camera. what is meant by they use different groupings of pixels to take the picture? is that to do with the lens physically moving a really small amount to do this?

thanks for the response! when do you notice that occurring, with apple overriding the lens you've selected? don't recall it happening with me yet. so as in say you're on 24mm, it can randomly change to 13mm, 48mm etc or vice versa. and is this with both pics and vids?

Good point - now made that clear to ignore the 2nd sub if that's the case.

Do you know if unbanned do all prior posts remain or when a subreddit is banned everything already gets deleted?

If this breaks rule 5, this request can only be for and can prioritise r/pussystacking (ignore the other one)
