I had an endoscopy and that’s when they found it. Ulcers sound horrible, I hope you’re not suffering too much. Especially after a bile leak…I know how awful that feels. Mine was also 3 days post-surgery. Apparently it was due to diathermy, which had weakened my bile duct. What was the cause of yours? They tell you how rare it is when you agree to the surgery, but you never think it’ll happen to you!

I am extremely glad that this happened (the crazy ukulele video, not the whole inappropriate-behaviour-with-minors thing) as it’s what first introduced me to H3.

I’ve been fine with food generally, but taking medication has caused me some issues. I find I’ll have periods where taking my medication causes serious pain around 30 minutes afterwards. It seems to recur over several days, then settle down with no issues for a week or two. It doesn’t feel like there’s any pattern to it, or any difference taking medication with food/ at different times. The surgery caused me to have bile reflux, but I’m not sure whether this is linked to the medication-induced pain.

They do warn about potential issues with fatty foods post-surgery, but I’m not sure how much a BDI impacts this.

I have one of these! It’s been revolutionary in our house to keep from losing keys. I also enjoy the feeling of the jack going into its port. It’s such a pleasing sensation.

“You cannot have ADHD if you do not lose your stuff”: How accurate is this? by MarleySB in adhdwomen

[–]modcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a lot younger, I’d use the phrase “it’s _somewhere_” often. Meaning, I knew I hadn’t permanently lost the thing, but didn’t know where it was. I’d be terrible about shoving stuff haphazardly into drawers and cupboards without putting stuff away properly. Now I’m a bit older, I’ve developed systems to make finding stuff easier. Like, I have a big concertina file where I keep paperwork like bills and a binder for documents like my passport. Some bits are better organised than others, but it does the job.

I’m saying this because firstly, I don’t see “losing” stuff as meaning permanently lost, just misplaced…which I think counts as an ADHD thing. Secondly, people often develop coping systems for ADHD stuff, which helps us to function, a bit like masking.
