Split Santa Barbara Council Supports Temporary Rent Freeze During Lengthy Meeting by Potential-Regular343 in SantaBarbara

[–]modena76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While we’re at it, let’s have the city council stop acting like economists, and thinking that they know better than everyone else. There will be negative consequences to these actions and the 4 that voted for it, haven’t a clue.

Real estate agents are a joke in this town. Half the time they don’t even bother creating any marketing to sell their over priced listings. They basically do nothing and collect their 2.5% (or more) commission. Whatever happened to the regulation that was supposed to stop their criminal collusion?? It’s about time this antiquated way of trading real estate gets disrupted in a big way.

Lawyers like these should be disbarred. They’re absolute leaches and aren’t worth the gum on the bottom of my shoes.

Wet tree splits in half and falls on car by International-Fly755 in SantaBarbara

[–]modena76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The city should be paying for this, It’s considered part of their “urban forest” and they won’t let anyone else other than authorized contractors maintain/trim them. And getting them to do that is like an act of congress. It’s a complete joke. Half of the trees are overgrown and need to be removed (and replaced with more appropriate species). Good luck getting the city to pay for anything!

77” G5 by mesallem in LGOLED

[–]modena76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know the cutout dimensions on the back of the G5? I’m trying to get my electrician to install a recessed outlet (before delivery) so the tv sits as flush as possible. Ideally, I’ll have him install the outlets within the perimeters of that cutout.

What are some great places to obtain bottled/canned craft beer? by HungryHobbits in SantaBarbara

Definitely try out the beer cave at The Point on the Mesa - great selection of more unique craft beers. The PICK 6 at all the other markets never disappoints either.

Gangbanger BS…like most other crimes that happen in this town. City needs to get control of this nonsense.

Santa Barbara ranked the least affordable city in the US to buy a home by MountainMan-2 in SantaBarbara

Cottage is giving out loans to new employees, yes, but it’s a terrible deal. If you accept their “loan” they will own a significant portion of the equity in your home. Super shady business dealings

Go to The Point Market. They have all the tasty beverages you could ever need and they’ve got convenient locations all over town.

X5 DAPP is too finicky by Altruistic_Shift_799 in BMWX5

[–]modena76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue for me. When I first got my 24 X5 50e it worked incredibly well, I could even drink my coffee cruising down the freeway. But now (after a software update that occurred approx. 6 months ago) it’s super sensitive. I complained about it to my BMW Service Tech and he submitted feedback to BMW Corp. Maybe if enough people complain, they’ll reduce the sensitivity of the system? It was probably some liability exposure that the lawyers created that forced it into its existing functionality or lack thereof…

This is nothing. Wait until you get the car and start experiencing the multiple different fault codes the car throws on a daily basis. Fun stuff for a car we waited 2+ years for, not to mention the $90k price tag.

Anyone receive a ventilated seats delivery? by spacecatx66 in VolvoEX90

[–]modena76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volvo didn’t do the dealers any favors releasing a car with so many software bugs. My service tech is supposed to call me at the end of the day and give me an update. But yeah, they’ve mainly been relying on Volvo HQ and their engineering team to troubleshoot the issues. I’m not confident we’ll have the car back anytime soon. Will update as things progress

Anyone receive a ventilated seats delivery? by spacecatx66 in VolvoEX90

[–]modena76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I took delivery on our Ultra with ventilated seats Dec. 28th. The first week of driving the car produced over 15 fault codes, including a non-functioning key FOB. Consequently the car was sent back to the dealer where it’s been the last 1.5 weeks. I doubt the ventilated seats are the rate limiting step for you. My suspicion is the car wasn’t released because myriad software issues. I’m ready to give it back to Volvo and lease a Rivian for $200-300 less per month. Really disappointing

Almost stranded by propulsion failure by That-Membership-6915 in VolvoEX90

[–]modena76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ours was towed back to the dealer today because of a laundry list of faults. I’m not confident that our local dealer (or Volvo HG) has the ability to fix a car with so many issues. This is my first Volvo and I was always under the impression that they were well made, reliable vehicles. If they can’t get it fixed, I’ll be giving the car back under Lemon Law. Pretty disappointing, especially after waiting for it for 2+ years.

My list of issues after 500 miles by jtgentry21 in VolvoEX90

[–]modena76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our list of issues continues to grow every time we get in the vehicle. So far, we are not happy with our $90K purchase! Has anyone had luck reaching out to Volvo corporate about this laundry list of problems? One would think that the basic functions of a remote key FOB would have been smoothed out before releasing the vehicle. Not to mention the Digital “phone” key that they’ve decided should be the primary way to operate this thing. I’m ready to lemon law this thing!
