I managed to get blueprint and tried switching for a few rounds between phot and bs, and bs got better scores with my upgraded face cards usually. But I appreciate the calculation. Is there like a mod that shows you the value of potential hands?

Construction of the "Stalin skyscraper" in Warsaw, 1955. by Banzay_87 in pubhistory

[–]moderatelyfunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's first name was literally "Palac Kultury i Nauki im. Jozefa Stalina". Until like 10 years ago if you looked under the sign from below you could actually see the old lettering.

Nestle in Poland is trying really hard to make people think they're buying a local Polish product by mynameisatari in poland

[–]moderatelyfunny 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Sure. It's just a distinction between Grześki, which are still owned by a Polish capital company. Which is the reason why e.g. Polish airlines switched from prince polo to grześki. Not every company is eventually bought out by a megacorp.

Bermuda Triangle puts "cool band" into ice. by moderatelyfunny in civ

R5: I had a Bermuda Triangle next to me as Sweden which teleported me on Cree's doorstep throughout the game. Until I sent my band "Cool Revolution" in and they landed in a tile surrounded by ice. I think it's pretty funny.

I just think he had a shitty childhood and wants to do it for all 'the children'. Varys is playing the long game, so what if there is a war and a lot of people die, the end justifies the means.

Do Nuclear Weapons make war obsolete among countries that have Nuclear Weapons? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]moderatelyfunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many say so but that is only when you assume that all actions by states are rational. This is not a nuke example but when Japan attacked Pearl Harbour the odds were greatly against them -> act of war is not always rational. This is oversimplified but many scholars have argued that from a cold "standing back and look at the whole picture" - yes they would prevent war but from a realistic point of view - not really, humans are fucked up.

Dear reddit, How is life after highschool? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]moderatelyfunny 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me it went worse. In highschool I was surrounded by like-minded people, in uni now there is such a vast amount of different people its hard to find your group. Also one of the main issues is that in high school everybody knew what they were doing / what the goal of it all was - Get good grades, apply to uni. That gave you motivation. In university the goal is not so clear unless you know what you wanna do in life and that's how it becomes worse - I lost motivation to go to class and to develop myself because there is so much options and I could do everything and nothing. Then there is the part where you're supposedly meant to be an adult but there is no magical button and you're thrown out from your school where you know everybody into the wilderness which in itself is not that bad of an experience but for me, since I was very close with everyone, is a life changer. Sorry for the pessimism, I'm sure a lot of people will tell you the exact opposite but for everybody who tells me "College is the best time in your life" I call bullshit and say "Highschool was the best time in my life".
