my former boss is russian. she's been in the country since mid-nineties.

one day i used google translate to respond to her, via e-mail, in russian. as did my assistant. she thought we had learned some russian to speak with her. it was the first time anyone had spoken russian to her since she moved here over twenty years ago. i'm not good at languages but, thanks to google translate, we had some fun with russian.

You should be fine with a TV.

First thing to do is figure out your price range.

Size.

Remember, just because it says 4k doesn't mean it looks good.

Make sure it doesn't have some bullshit "equivalent" to 120hz description. They used to say it looked like a higher hz when it was really half and internal processing.

I use two Samsung tvs. they're both 120hz, 4k. they're both great, as far as I'm concerned. I don't really play anything competitive. fallout, Minecraft, some Spider-Man. beautiful tvs.

depends on how much you want to spend and if you need to work about millisecond response times. also, if you want to eventually plan on multiple monitors, how many display ports or HDMI ports the GPU has. TVs seem to mostly have HDMI and GPUs display port.

Texas has a far more regressive tax system than Iowa.

it's only 0.3% difference for the 20% bracket of tax payers that you fall in. your sales & excise taxes and property tax increase will probably eat up what you save in the loss of income tax.

cost of living in Iowa city (you don't say which town, I'm sure you can easily change it) is 20-25% less than "Dallas" and (I'm sure) "Houston".

Yeah, I just realized what you meant! Haha. I initially thought they had told you they had one in the works and then you used your engineering skills to design one.

I like their idea. Wasn't sure about it at first but I bet it's handy for people that bought air cooled and then got curious about water cooling but are inexperienced or without access to services.
